24.01.2022 At Holy Spirit School today we paused to remember the sacrifice of Australian men and women who have died or suffered in wars and armed conflicts. In today’s prayer, we asked God to help us all be peacemakers - to be people of peace not war; people of love not hate, and; people of tolerance not prejudice. Lest we forget!... 20.01.2022 School in the 'Olden Days' On Friday, November 20, Year 1 students at Holy Spirit Catholic Primary School experienced a day in the life of a student and teacher back in the 1900s. This immersion was for the History unit being studied, "What was life like back in the olden days?" The day commenced with life in a 1900s classroom completing handwriting and arithmetic lessons on blackboards with a very strict headmistress. The students had a cooking lesson where they made their o...wn butter, learnt how to sew to make very interesting sock puppets and danced the heel and toe polka! In the afternoon, it was time to play the games the students in the 1900s may have played; they played marbles, jacks, quoits, skipping, elastics, rolling hoops and ball games. It was fun to pretend to be a student and teacher in the 1900s. What an amazing day we all had experiencing life in the past (with a bit of modern comfort to combat the 40 degrees day - air conditioning!).

Our very professional Kindergarten farmers did a mighty job looking after the animals and making sure that they were cared for and well fed. The Kindergarten farmers learnt a lot through the experience. By the end of the day the Kindergarten farmers had packed up the animals, sent them on their way and ensured the Carnes Hill farmland was transformed back to our beautiful Holy Spirit School again.

07.01.2022 100 AND IN KINDERGARTEN! Kindergarten celebrated their 100th day of Learning at Holy Spirit Catholic Primary School and dressed up as if they were 100 years old.
