25.01.2022 Dear priests, deacons and pastoral associates We have checked the SA government covid site, for the further notifications that Grant Stephens mentioned at 12....30 pm. There is still no reference to churches, but bearing in mind the other provisions of the circuit breaker restrictions, Bishop Karol Kulczycki SDS has instructed us that all public Masses and other worship are to cease at midnight tonight. This means no public weekday or Sunday Masses, nor other sacraments at the church, at least until Wednesday next week. As the restrictions also stated, weddings and funerals are banned for these 6 days. If you are able to live-stream or record and upload your Mass by yourself, or with the assistance of someone with whom you share a home, then by all means go ahead and do this. We are seeking guidance as to whether priests (like me) who need assistance with live-streaming/recording, or to do ministry of reader, can have someone leave home to come and attend to this. I note on the circuit breaker restrictions that one of the reasons for which one may leave home is for organised end of life visits. I’d be confident this would cover sick calls for priests where there is danger of death. That being said, my feeling is that if you do need to attend such a situation, it might be worth a courtesy phone call to your local police station, to advise them of the reason for your leaving your house, and your likely time of return home. Kind regards Jim Fr Jim Monaghan Vicar General.

24.01.2022 During the festive season, religious leaders and members of the faith community are encouraged to maintain connection to other members. If you are hosting a rel...igious event: there must be no more than 1 person per 2 square metres the number of people allowed will depend on the size of the venue employees and people undertaking official duties are not included in the total number of people. If you are attending a religious event, make sure you check-in with COVID Safe Check-In. Follow our tips for holding a COVID safe event.

07.01.2022 Dear sisters and brothers, As you would be aware the South Australian Premier Steven Marshall has recently announced a change to the state-wide lockdown restric...tions. The state-wide lockdown will cease effective from midnight Saturday, 21st November 2020. This means that churches may re-open on Sunday 22 November 2020 following the guidelines outlined below: Churches are capped at 100 people whilst maintaining 1 person per 4 square metres. Funerals are capped at 50 people whilst maintaining 1 person per 4 square metres.
