24.01.2022 Hey all, I'm going to be taking a few days off early December... Pam and I are going on a mini cruise for 4 nights and 5 days. We leave Brisbane on Friday 6th of December arrive in Sydney on the Sunday for 2 further nights. We then fly home on Tuseday the 10th December. 22.01.2022 I will keep working for as long as I am allowed by the government due to restrictions being brought in to stop the spread of this virus I am also prepared for computers and laptops to be dropped off safely with no contact required as I have an area through my side gate where they can be left and once work has been carried out can be paid for online and picked up from the same location. All instructions for work to be carried out can be done over the phone or via email... 16.01.2022 Telstra Email Issues I posted about this on my blog 4 weeks ago about many having issues sending and receiving emails via Telstra webmail It is still ongoing and no end in sight If using an emailing program you might get asked to enter your password a few times because it failed to send or receive but don't change the password just click next and hopefully it'll continue and work... If it doesn't then try again later... 09.01.2022 Microsoft support for Windows 7 ends 14th January 2020 When Windows 7 reaches its End of Life phase on January 14, 2020, Microsoft will stop releasing updates and patches for the operating system. Its likely that it also wont offer help and support if you encounter any problems. However, that doesnt mean Windows 7 will stop working on January 14 2020 youll still be able to use Windows 7 for as long as you want. So the good news is that youre not going to wake up on Jan...uary 15 to find your Windows 7 PC no longer boots up. But just because you can continue to use Windows 7 in its End of Life status, it doesnt mean you should. The biggest issue with continuing to use Windows 7 is that it wont be patched for any new viruses or security problems once it enters End of Life, and this leaves you extremely vulnerable to any emerging threats. Whats more, if a large number of people continue to use Windows 7 after the End of Life date, that could actually be a big incentive for malicious users to target viruses and other nasties at WIndows 7. So, while Windows 7 will continue to work after January 14 2020, you should start planning to upgrade to Windows 10, or an alternative operating system, as soon as possible.

08.01.2022 With the latest Government update can I please ask for anyone wanting computer help over this difficult time that they make an appointment so I can keep within the new guidelines on groups... I will continue to work either from my home, out on jobs where possible and via remote access for as long as possible

08.01.2022 Some sad news to report Max is now asleep but in no more distress He started to have the seizures again After his first we took him to the vets and Max was just fine and the vet said he looks and everything is fine with him. But unfortunately we knew it was probably the start of his brain tumor growing back. But only 1 so lets see how he went... Over the 3 days he had 5 more seizures and we knew it was his time... So about 2 weeks ago Max went to sleep But our little Sam is helping so much and keeping us strong Sams being a little shy, nervous around people when someone comes to me for computer help but hopefully hell be fine with time He misses Max so much as well See more

Some new ones are now making out to be the ones saying you have been scammed and theyre going to fix your computer problems and they need to do so quickly via remote access... Then they actually infect your system...... Keep a check on Scamwatch for updates https://www.scamwatch.gov.au/ If in any doubt at all hang up the phone If you let them onto your computer - turn of the router/modem this will stop what theyre doing immediately Play it safe and dont talk to them at all... STAY SAFE

03.01.2022 Since late Friday night, an expired certificate caused all add-ons on Firefox to be disabled. With Adblock Plus being one of the favorite add-ons for users world-wide, this hits us hard. But we have absolute confidence in the open source community behind Firefox to get this fixed as soon as possible! There is nothing you can or need to do, other than wait for Firefox to update, which will most likely happen automatically. So in the meantime, stay strong when faced with a pop-up, a screaming flash-ad or an annoying banner while you browse the web.
