21.01.2022 A big thank you to everyone who dropped by to visit this morning for our Open Day. We had a fun morning meeting our families and children and look forward to you all beginning Kindy either next year or in the next few years. A big thankyou to Miss Tania for cooking the delicious sausages for our sausage sizzle and to Miss Jodies girls Indiana and Emily for helping to set up and pack up this morning and making our guests feel welcome.

21.01.2022 Yesterday we explored the density, colour and properties of liquids with a colourful chemistry experiment called Fireworks in a jar. The colour droplets slowly sank through the oil and then we watched as there was a burst of colour in the water that looked like a firework.

18.01.2022 Yesterday we had a visit from two of our local firefighters. Firefighter Sherry and Firefighter Shaun. We learnt some important information about how the local firefighters help the people and animals in our community. They taught us about good and bad fires and how to call 000 in an emergency. Firefighter Shaun also showed the children what he would look like in his full protective clothing and explained that his clothing and mask is to protect him from the heat but we dont need to be afraid of him he is there to help in an emergency.

14.01.2022 BREAKING: Queensland school students will learn at home for the first five weeks of Term 2, with schools only open for the children of essential workers. The mo...ve to the home-based learning model starts on Monday, 20 April and will be in place until at least Friday, 22 May. All students who can learn from home are to stay at home. School staff, unless they are vulnerable due to medical conditions, will continue to teach from the classroom to ensure continuity of learning for students. Children of essential workers and vulnerable children can continue to attend school. This is another very difficult decision, but it is the right one for Queensland while we continue to slow the spread of COVID-19. #coronavirusaustralia

14.01.2022 Lids for Kids. We would like to begin collecting clean washed lids at our Kindy to help make a difference in the lives of children who need prosthetic limbs. I will attach some information regarding the lids we are seeking and would love it if we had the support of our Community. 14.01.2022 Storm Cloud our kindy chicken lives with us at kindy. She is a teacher in disguise helping us to teach the children how to be gentle and respectful of living things, how to care and nurture for other living creatures. She helps to teach the children about the interconnectedness between plants, people, animals and the land. She is also great for helping children overcome and fear and anxieties they may have about animals.

08.01.2022 The children helped to make Anzac Biscuits here at kindy to help celebrate Anzac Day. We discussed the importance of remembering the people who fought in the wars and how Anzac Biscuits were sent to them because of the longevity of the ingredients and how they provided the soldiers with a yummy treat while they were away from home.
