20.01.2022 Remembrance Day At 11 o’clock on 11 November 1918, fighting in the First World War came to a formal close with the signing of an Armistice. This day now known as Remembrance Day is now a day to commemorate the sacrifices of war and to remember those who have served or are currently serving. All Australians are encouraged to remember these men and women by observing one minute's silence at 11 am on the 11th of November for Remembrance Day. By observing one minute's silence we... pay tribute to the men and women who have served and are still serving in our defence forces and remember those who have died or suffered in conflicts, wars and peacekeeping operations.
