16.01.2022 Kids toys! Where do you start? -Do some prep. -Have a rubbish bag, a donation bag or box. -An idea of the system you want for organising your toys.... Organise your space in a way that works for your family and needs. Every family is different so what works for you might be different to what works for me. For example I use toy rotation for my little girl but not my big girl. Your system may also change as the kids grow and there toys change. -Group your toys into catogories e.g. stuffed/plastic/ books/ construction. Or by age group. -Have an open area to place toys while sorting. Look at each toy and make clear decisions. -Only work on one catogory at a time. -Let you kids help if old enough (they are more likely to understand where toys go back, and keep the room clean if they were involved in the process of organising them. -Remember the toys will get messy again and that's ok. If you do a regular tidy and matinance vs a once a year clean it will be much less overwhelming. -Use what you already own to store and organise toys. Old icecream containers or handbags work well. -Give yourself enough time to do it. If your in a rush it will be super stressful. - Keep it simple. They are only toys after all.
