25.01.2022 We're getting set for prep 2021 at Homebush. Our small class sizes, highly experienced teachers, after school care program, gorgeous grounds and warm family atmosphere make our school a wonderful place to start formal education. Enrol today!

25.01.2022 Congratulations to all our award winners this week. Lots of children moved to the next spelling level and quite a few achieved their writing levels too. Stella was also voted year 2,3 class captain. There's just so much happening at Homebush!

23.01.2022 On P&C Appreciation Day, I decided to ask some students what they are thankful for; " We get to do art and play with our friends at After School Care." (Cooper) "Thank you for the delicious tuckshop ...Yum!" (Ella) "We enjoy the fun excursions that you help pay for." (Hannah) "The giant inflatables you get us for break up day are awesome." (Jackson) It seems unanimous. Homebush SS is splendidly supported by the hardworking volunteers in our P&C and we couldn't appreciate them more! Thanks everyone.

19.01.2022 Our Student Council made just over $160 for their projects from a Mother's Day raffle. Winner of first prize, a crocheted queen size rug was Joshua Millar. Bev McLennan won the second prize of a beautifully embroidered towel set. The students wish to thank Evelyn Millar who made and donated these generous prizes.

19.01.2022 Drum Roll Please ... Our eagerly awaited new school sign was installed this week. A joint venture of our P&C, the school, Glencore and Stephen Andrew MP, the electronic sign will allow us to increase parent and community engagement with our super school. Another goal achieved for Team Homebush!

18.01.2022 Reconciliation Week and Sorry Day were topics of conversation in our classrooms last week. Mrs Matsen also made this beautiful graphic representation with the older students.

13.01.2022 A Courier Mail article published this week celebrated our fabulous new sign. This was the product of community collaboration and we are very grateful to our genorous supporters Glencore Australia, Stephen Andrews MP and of course our tireless P&C which could not be more supportive of our staff and students

11.01.2022 We really appreciated the help of Billy's dad Ricky last week to erect our soccer goals. They've been out of action for more than 6 months and the students were thrilled to have them back. Our community supports us in so many ways and we are very grateful!

09.01.2022 Book Fair 2020 was funtabulous! The library was transformed into a winter wonderland and the children really pulled out the stops dressing as their favourite book characters or in the Book Fair Theme "Snow Much To Read." We all enjoyed the activity morning and lots of lovely new books went home with the students. Thanks to all concerned but especially to our lovely ice queen Mrs Harris!

01.01.2022 Science Day was a blast last week. The students loved learning at the demonstration stations, taking part in the Mackay State High School science show, meeting the devious design challenges and participating in the hands on Sarina Landcare Catchment Management activities. We're switched on to science at Homebush SS!

01.01.2022 Our recent year 4,5,6 leadership camp at Kinchant Dam OEC gave the students lots of opportunities to challenge themselves. Lots of fun but very little sleep was had by all.
