21.01.2022 NDIS have recently introduced a new role called ‘Psychosocial Recovery Coach’. This role, although similar to a NDIS Support Coordinator, is unique and has specifically been created for NDIS Participants who have a psychosocial disabilities. A Support Coordinator’s job is to find out what services you need, connect you with these services, ensure that these services are providing quality support, keep track of your funding and assist you in preparing for your next Plan Revi...ew. Your Recovery Coach combine tasks of a Support Coordinator and a mental health worker. They are the personified link between the NDIS and mainstream mental health services. ‘Psychosocial’ merges the word psychological and social. It describes the relationship between a a persons mental health and their social behaviour. People living with a psychosocial disability can have long-term challenges to function in society, often as a result of past trauma. Individuals with severe mental illness, that is eligible for the NDIS support have the opportunity to be supported by a Psychosocial Recovery Coach. The additional aspect of the Recovery Coach role is that they will work together with you to ensure that everyone around you is doing their best to support you to reach your NDIS goals. They will help you identify any barriers that may have been getting in your way and use a strengths-based approach to support you to overcome them. They will work with you to create relapse prevention strategies to ensure that you do not go backwards in your recovery journey. For the NDIS the meaning ‘recovery’ can differ from person to person, so every recovery journey will be unique. 11.01.2022 The new price guide is out, looks like there are some interesting changes... Today the Minister for the NDIS, the Hon Stuart Robert, has released the results of the Annual Price Review 202021 along with the NDIS Price Guide and Support Catalogue 202021, effective 1 July 2020. Pricing improvements will better meet the needs of NDIS participants, their families, and carers while supporting providers to be confident in their ability to continue to provide services and ensurin...g the financial sustainability of the Scheme. The Annual Price Review involved extensive consultation with the sector and the Price Guide is being released four weeks before the new market settings become effective on 1 July. The new look Price Guide is clear and transparent about pricing arrangements and the new layout makes it easier to find information for specific supports by including line items and claiming rules within the one document.

On recommendation from the review, the following will apply from 1 July 2020: Removal of temporary 10 per cent price loading on certain core and capacity building supports;... Definition of cancellation period is reduced from 10 days to levels under the previous policy; Medium Term Accommodation (MTA) period will be returned to the original policy of 90 days (rolled back from 180 days).
