25.01.2022 Some thoughts on what has been some of the big interest stories in finance this week - and what I do to wind down

25.01.2022 Entering the property market is no easy feat for a first homebuyer, but even parents who aren’t prepared to hand over cash for a deposit may help by being a guarantor on a loan. http://blog.homefinancehub.com.au//what-mum-dad-need-to-k/

17.01.2022 To all you teachers and school staff out there - welcome back to work. Thanks for being there - said every parent!

16.01.2022 It was a great day for us with First Home Buyers today! One young couple settled on their first home today (and that's the 4th so far this month!), another had their offer accepted, and yet another jumped on a Zoom call with me today to start their journey. It's so exciting working with people to buy their first home - I get a real kick out of it! If you're dreaming of owning your first home - well, we can help you out there!

16.01.2022 It's been an incredibly busy month or so at Home Finance Hub. We've moved home (and office as well, of course) - still the same postcode - had a load of new inquiries from existing and new clients, helped one of our sons move house, as well as managing social distancing professionally and personally. COVID19 has provided plenty of challenges to everyone - thankfully we've been able to put in place great processes for serving our clients all around the country. If you have any questions or concerns about your current mortgage, or you're looking for a new home or investment property, please give me a call or drop us a line.

16.01.2022 I've been getting a lot of questions over the last couple of days from people about the Federal Government's Home Builder programme - a programme that provides ...an incentive to home builders and substantial renovators alike. Detail has been pretty short - but this article is very good in understanding the framework and limitations. If you are looking at building or renovating, this could be a good bonus for you (as long as builders don't just bump up prices by $25k), as well as boosting activity in the construction sector. 15.01.2022 Ok- so just to mix things up, I'm going to do a FB Live on my personal page at 4pm and then do a watch party here afterwards! This week, I'm talking about the easing of so called "responsible lending" regulations, the new Best Interests Duty coming in for mortgage brokers - and a quick conversation on where interest rates look like they may be headed.

15.01.2022 It seems that almost all fingers point to the RBA lowering interest rates again today. Fixed mortgage rates already seem to have 50 point decreases factored into them over the next year or so - but I'd be extremely surprised if banks passed on anywhere near the whole cut that we appear to be gearing up for today to variable loan rates, which I (fearlessly!) predict will be 0.25%. Hang on to your hats - the rodeo is starting again!

15.01.2022 Talking today about a couple of things happening in the home loan game, but also spending some time talking about mental health, and taking a break.

14.01.2022 Today - I'm going to talk about "white label" loans and changes to interest rates around the traps

13.01.2022 Personal loans are a useful option for buying things, especially when you don’t want to pay off the new car over 20 or 30 years by adding it to your home loan. This week , we look at some of the pros and cons of personal loans. http://blog.homefinancehub.com.au//personal-loans-feature/

13.01.2022 Just confirming that our email is down at Home Finance Hub, so if you've been trying to email us, it's probably bouncing back at you. Hoping to have it fixed on Sunday. Please bear with me - take the weekend off! Cheers!

10.01.2022 It's Melbourne Cup Day today, but there's plenty of things to punt on. My trifecta? An iron-clad horse to win the Melbourne Cup, a cash-backed politician to win the US election, and the RBA to drop our cash rate target to 0.10% to fan the economic recovery fire in Australia. What's on your radar today?

More things to tell you about later, but that was the #1! Absolutely stoked. Love what I do. 07.01.2022 Weekly update with a focus this week on Debt Consolidation loans to overcome the Holiday Credit Hangover

07.01.2022 Did you know that if you have a deposit of less than 20%, the banks charge Lenders Mortgage Insurance to protect them? It's a cost to you, but it allows you to purchase with a smaller deposit. The federal government has a new scheme in place to help 10,000 First Home Buyers each year, which will remove a lot of that extra cost. #FirstHomeBuyer #HomeFinanceHub
