25.01.2022 And we’re open!!! Today from 9:00 to 3:00 with pies and coffees (then back tomorrow with our regular hours!!!) It will take us a few days to get the whole shabang running smoothly again - but we are SO excited to see you lovely people again and welcome you back out into the world!!

24.01.2022 Now making friends with salad in McLaren Flat!!! Grab one to go for lunch, or add one to enjoy along with your pie, or bring them home to serve with your dinner. Beetroot & cranberry / Ancient Grain / Quinoa & Carrot. They’re just available at our bakery in McLaren Flat right now - what do you think?? Should we have them in Aldinga & Middleton too?!

23.01.2022 Ok friends!! Let’s do this. From midnight tonight we will be closed for the next six days, following the current restrictions put in place in South Australia. (For updates make sure to visit www.covid-19.sa.gov.au) To help you stock your fridges, we will be staying open late in ALDINGA! ... (Wearing masks and keeping socially distant of course!! No need not to stay safe ). So if you are stressed out rushing around trying to get everything you need, know that you don’t need to rush to us! We will be there. McLaren Flat will be closing at 3pm. Middleton will be closing at 4pm. Aldinga will be closing late! Check back here for updates! We will stay as late as we can, but if no ones coming in (or we sell out) we will head home. And you can buy any 5 pies for $20. As always, take care of yourself, take care of one another! And we hope that you can join us in looking ahead to being out the other side of this with a big collective WHEW!! We’ve got this, y’all. 23.01.2022 PSA:: our fruit mince pies are landing at a Home Grain near you TOMORROW!! We’ll try to keep them in stock until Christmas - but get in quick with your orders, friends!! We marinate the fruit in a gorgeous mixture of brandy, sugar, lemon juice, and spices for 30 days - so there comes a time every year where we just have to dive in and hope we’ve made enough!!! oh!! And PSA PART 2: (because I KNOW some of you feel very strongly about this) no rind!!

20.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who has been patient with us as we all learn how to do this QR check in business!! We are now required to have every customer log in by using the QR code we have on display. It’s pretty easy once you get the hang of it - and if you’re still figuring it out give us a shout when you come in and we’ll lend a hand!!! We’re becoming pros Just open the mySA gov app (it’s the same one you can have a digital copy of your drivers licence on!!) and scan the... code - OR open your phones camera to scan it and enter your details into the website. For those of you without a phone (or a functioning camera) we’ll have a paper log you can put your details in instead! But we do ask that every customer of ours plays along nicely with this government initiative. Thank you friends!!!

18.01.2022 Old Coach Road, Aldinga (aka our lovely home ) is the most gorgeous little main street in SA - do you agree?!! In the past 9 years it has become a lovely centre of collaboration - absolutely filled to overflowing with so much love and energy from so many different sources. And we super think this should be recognised with an award! Vote here!!

15.01.2022 Our friend Gary passed away just over a year ago, and his pot of daisies that’s lived in front of our bakery in Aldinga has been stolen! To whoever has him - there are actually some of his ashes in the pot too, so make sure you keep him company. He’s become used to having someone sit with him while they have their morning coffee, smoko, or lunch (he likes chicken pies a lot if you’d like to share) And he can be a bit cheeky!! So if you suddenly start hearing music late at night don’t worry, he’s probably just haunting you is all. OR- you could bring him back bc we miss him!

11.01.2022 LOVE (in essay form) Last week we took our management team out for a gorgeous lunch at Victor’s Place! The food was stunning, as was the wine and the service. And OH the view!! But best of all was the company ... We try to treat this little team every few months to lunch or a fun activity. It’s our way of saying THANK YOU and you’re doing a great job!! And this time it even came with a you guys are managing a high-contact business through a pandemic (as well as some other pretty big changes) and you are AMAZING! So we just wanted to take the chance to share that with all of you as well! Chad - you’re running two seperate teams right now, as well as running the business side AND producing the actual food we all enjoy!! (WHEW!) You’re a great leader and a great coach - you are juggling so much right now, and doing a flipping great job dude. Cath - you have crafted such a gorgeous little team down south! Someone once referred to you as The Middleton Rebels, which I think is just the sweetest bc it shows just how strong and unique your little team is! You are a great leader, and we adore your love of organisation and your cheeky competitive side too!! We’re lucky to have you Mollie - You’ve hopped shops so smoothly this year, and have successfully built a gorgeous team twice now!! (Wow!!!) It’s actually been gorgeous watching you learn and grow into such a great leader - you have such a gorgeous mix of having your own ideas, working them in with the ideas we hold, and also getting stuff done!! Great job darling girl And Evi! One of our longest standing employees!!! It’s been gorgeous working with you for ....what? 7 or 8 years?!!! You, darling, are miraculously good at concrete things like spreadsheets and numbers, that literally make our world go ‘round, AND you also bring a little bit of magic with you as well! You are amazing EUH. My heart How lucky are we?!?!!!! Would you all like to join us in sending this crew (and their crews!!!) some love?!!

04.01.2022 We will be OPEN this Sunday with pies and coffees! Unfortunately, we will not have any bread available! Due to the nature of sourdough baking, it will take us a few days until we are back to normal with everything! Our bakers will be running their little tushies off getting bread and sweets on the menu for you- let’s give them an epic !!!!! Thank you ahead of time for your patience ... WHEW!! What a whirlwind! This year CERTAINLY hasn’t been boring.

(And even that is only half as gorgeous as the space and the people!! ) Definitely worth a look next time you’re down south. I’ve popped a few of my favourite details in our stories today as well, if you want to swoon over the space with me!!

02.01.2022 Hello darling friends!!! Our three bakeries are open as usual tomorrow - we still have our store limits in place, and just ask you lovely people to remember to keep enough space between you!! Our hearts go out to everyone affected right now, from our fellow business owners who have been shut down overnight (oof we feel for you!! ) to everyone who’s plans have had to be rearranged. It’s been a wild ride of a year, but we’re confident SA will work together and get this under control!!
