19.01.2022 It seems like an eternity since I started this Master of Teaching, and I've gotta say this whole pandemic thing has been a wee bit distracting, but I'm still hanging in, I haven't given up, and today's text reminds me why I started in the first place. Hoping for a future where it's once again safe to sing and dance together.

17.01.2022 Its been a big morning of gross motor and locomotor movement in our 9:30 Move and Groove class today - plus we even got to play a trombone! This class is almost full, but there are places in our 9:30 level 2 family class and our 10:30 class for kids in 3 year old kinder. 15.01.2022 In Kindermusik, we know children also use exploration and problem solving to learn what an object does and how it works. We call that process epistemic play. Each week in class, we provide many opportunities for your child to explore objects in order to better understand how they work. So, while trying out all the ways to pass, bounce, or hold a ball, your child gains a foundational understanding of how balls work. Plus, all this epistemic play supports your childs overall cognitive development.

13.01.2022 We talk a last "walk in the garden" today using this fantastic "stump and step" set from Belmont Toy Library Inc. So great for practising balance and building proprioception in these toddlers and preschoolers! Of course, this walk in the park had a musical soundtrack - which makes everything more fun. Classes are on a break next week before we return for the last 4 weeks of the year, when our Wiggle & Grow level 3 families are all about FOOD!

13.01.2022 An important announcement from Robyn at Homegrown Music: Its with much sadness that Im announcing the closure of my Kindermusik Studio Program at the South Barwon Community Centre after 7 years of operating, while I study for a Master of Teaching - Primary and Early Childhood with Deakin University. Ironically it has been teaching Kindermusik that has affirmed that teaching - particularly music teaching - is the path I should be pursuing, and hopefully a more formal quali...fication will open up more opportunities for me to do the work I love in future. Thankyou to all the families who have made music with me in Kindermusik classes over the last 7 years - I have been so privileged to share the early years of your childrens lives and your first few years of parenthood in such a joyful, loving and gracious environment, and I want to thank you for your trust and loyalty in turning up each week ready for fun, regardless of how tired you were, and being there for your kids as weve played and learned together. It has truly been a love job for me! I hope that I will still see you all around town and that perhaps in future I may be teaching keyboard or ukulele or choir to your children. Geelong really isnt that big of a place!
