17.01.2022 It is with great sadness that we confirm the passing of Daphne Fancutt, a true Queensland legend. She reached the doubles final of the Wimbledon Championships ...with partner Fay Muller in 1956, one of many highlights in an esteemed career on court. Pictured with loving husband Trevor at the opening of the Daphne Fancutt Ampithetre, Daphne's dedication to the sport beyond her playing career earned her many accolades including becoming a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) and Life Membership of Tennis Queensland. Daphne was an incredibly talented player whose passion and love for the game spread well beyond her years on court, with a lifetime spent developing and supporting generations of players in Queensland. An incredibly deserving Life Member of Tennis Queensland, Daphne will be forever remembered by the tens of thousands of people estimated to have fallen in love with the sport at her hands. We send our deepest condolences to her family and the wider tennis community who will be reflecting on her wonderful life today. Warwick Nicol, Tennis Queensland President

07.01.2022 Welcome to everyone participating in the Burdekin "Home Hill Surgery" Open this weekend. Best of luck to all players. We are looking forward to a great weekend of tennis.

06.01.2022 Burdekin 46 games were defeated by the World 69 games. The team of imports played consistently to overcome the Burdekinites. It could even be said that the world had to fly a team in to beat the locals. A certain Burdekin player got into the action blowing a shoe in the process. This didn’t deter the true blue Burdekinite who removed his shoes and continued the game. The world players put the pin on the map to show where they came from. Everyone enjoyed the night with lots of matches continuing after the whistle to finish that game.
