21.01.2022 To spread a little Christmas joy to some of our local seniors this year, we coordinated a special initiative we’re calling Be A Santa To A Senior. This year has been a real test for all, but particularly those living permanently in Aged Care; the isolation and disconnection to their families and the community has been incredibly difficult. Thank you to the students of Kuluin State School for writing these heartfelt letters and to the staff of Tri-Care for their participation. During this time where there’s been restraints on travel, visitation and social aspects, Tri-Care continue to ensure their residents are engaged, supported and have access to a range of activities this festive season!

21.01.2022 We are so grateful to have contributed to this legendary initiative! Joe Kelly M.P & his brother Vince embarked on one Really Big Walk! Their journey on foot taking them from Brisbane all the way to Coolum clocking over 250 km’s, and raising $36,000 to bring much needed awareness for Parkinson’s Disease. Last week we co-hosted an afternoon tea with Parkinson's QLD and provided these dedicated walkers, Maleny Hospitals nursing staff and the members of the local support groups with some well deserved tucker! 18.01.2022 Our amazing team at Home Instead Sunshine Coast swapped their office attire for activewear today to accrue some kilometres to raise awareness for WDD or World Diabetes Day! We participated in the Lions Clubs International Lap The Map initiative, contributing 38.5 KM’s towards the national goal. We’re grateful to have such beautiful scenic footpaths and boardwalks that line the pristine beaches of our community. Our trustworthy pooches were also happy to get behind this great cause!

07.01.2022 Carers need care too! Balancing a carer's mental health and wellbeing is an essential part of caring for our senior loved ones. Recently Home Instead Sunshine Coast took part in a Mental Health and Wellbeing Carers lunch at the Lakehouse. We worked with Wellways Australia to provide 5 hours of support care while carers could get some much needed time to relax and develop the skills they need to practice good mental wellbeing. We really enjoyed being a part of this and look forward to more.

Coral moved from NSW with her carer and is enjoying her new life on the Sunshine Coast. Coral looks forward to her weekly outings with her CAREGivers and last week went fishing with her CAREGiver Jenni. Coral has enjoyed fishing all her life and was so excited about taking her reel out and going fishing.
