O...ur planning system shapes lives, and influences how we live. Western Australians deserve a planning system which is responsive, transparent, easy to understand and applies common-sense. A system that delivers forward-looking, job-creating projects and infrastructure for our State. For decades, this level of planning reform has been talked about but never actioned. Today, after three years of extensive consultation and work - we’re delivering exactly what we promised. A once-in-a-lifetime reform of the Western Australia’s planning system to help drive economic activity. Our plan is to simplify Western Australia’s planning system and boost the State’s economic recovery from COVID-19. The changes will include: - A new development application process for significant, job-creating projects for the next 18 months to provide immediate support for the State's economic recovery - Abolishing change of use approvals for a number of different types of small business, which is often required by local government to start up or adapt a business - Exempting a wider range of small residential projects such as patios, decks and extensions from planning approval; - Abolishing onerous requirements on small businesses to pay cashin-lieu for parking shortfalls up to 10 bays - Improving community consultation by mandating consistent consultation processes across the State These changes are being urgently brought forward to support our wider economic response to the pandemic. They will help protect WA jobs and create new job opportunities. Our changes to planning legislation and regulations will simplify the planning system, cut red tape and increase support for small business. It’ll ensure we can get on with major, job-creating projects that will help WA rebound stronger than ever and let business get on and do business.

(Observing social distancing of course!) Since the partnership began, Home Integrity’s Referral Program has resulted in the construction of over 100 custom built wheelchairs for kids around the world, built by +300 volunteer WA retirees. ... The Blue Tree Project's mission is to help spark difficult conversations and encourage people to speak up when battling mental health concerns. By spreading the paint and spreading the message that "it’s OK to not be OK", we can help break down the stigma that’s still largely attached to mental health.
