25.01.2022 Colour wax SOLD OUT in Europe and down to single digits in the U.S. and Melbourne. "first wave nods to The Saints, Germs, and raw and ragged tales of The Stooges, though perhaps the most modern connection seems to be from Timmy Vulgar’s camp. There’s more than a bit of his acid gargle in the vocals here. There’s a snottiness to the record that’s surely on par with The Dead Boys, though the approach is much harsher DENNIS boasts less swagger than even those degenerates and proudly so. This is a scum dredged vision of punk, just as it should be, soaked and sodden and wrung dry over the tape machine until all the bile was documented and decoded."
25.01.2022 This date in 2015 was the official release date of Cuntz third and final LP, Force The Zone. Artwork delays (one of the many joys associated with running a small label) caused the LP to almost not arrive in time for their second appearance at Gonerfest... Some of you may have scored a copy late September which is kinda incredible, considering there were still artwork "issues" mid-July. "In short, these guys are the Donald Trump of bands." - mr. gruff the atheist goat Availabl...e for the bargain price of AUD $17.95 from Strangeworld Records in Melbourne. https://www.stereogum.com//australian-band-cuntz-are/news/
25.01.2022 Delve into the latest single, "Yellow Jacket Blues" from Simon Joyner's newest masterpiece, Pocket Moon, released October 25th. Available to preorder now and shipping real soon. Click the first link in the YouTube video to be taken to whichever territory you're in. Uncut gave the album 9/10 and rightly so!
24.01.2022 We hope you're doing okay out there in this virus-stricken world... We had planned to make 2020 a year of reissues - none as yet announced - but circumstances have seen us recalibrate those planned releases to 2021. It's currently a Bandcamp fee-free Friday (until 5pm AEST) and we've made the incredible DENNIS and WILFUL BOYS albums available digitally for those who have asked. With warehouses in Paris, New York and Melbourne, Homeless is unaffected by the shipping restrictio...ns in place and with multiple options, those costs remain low. Many of our titles are almost completely sold out and declared Out of Print, so there's never been a better time to snap up a catalogue release you've had your eye on! July 19 marks the 8 year anniversary of Bits of Sh!t bombastic and unforgettable debut - a huge THANK YOU for all the support you've given this bloody ride. Have a fine weekend, Richie the Homeless guy
24.01.2022 As it's still November 8th in the U.S, with many followers of this label celebrating, it's apt the @thewilfulboys Life Lessons (Donald J. Trump could use a lesson in being gracious in defeat) is one year old today. We recently got a couple colour vinyl copies to our Paris warehouse and with single-digit copies remaining in Oz and the U.S. you can take full advantage of our low shipping rates at our (not Bandcamp!) website now. Link in bio. Yellow Green Red have never written ...a kind thing about a Homeless release - although did soften on our Gentlemen release as everyone discovers Geld - but had the following to say about Life Lessons: "The perfect modern companion to the Cosmic Psychos..." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TgDFgcHArbg&t=2s
23.01.2022 Bifurcation? Gonna have to do until we can get one of our French buddies (Regis, Billy, Philippe, Julien...) to translate. Unless The Wilful Boys can help?
22.01.2022 Eloquently said (as always) by one of Melbourne's finest slingers of wax, Round And Round Records. Thanks Dave / Jeff / Joe. Ask your local / favourite store to order DENNIS for you - they know how to grip it!
21.01.2022 8 years today the Homeless label launched with a truly great Oz Punk album. 24 hours later some arsehole from Russia shared it for the world to download. The vinyl - in its fourth and final pressing (five if you count the French edition) - gets closer to being entirely sold out. Thanks for your continued interest cos, operating almost entirely without radio or press support, we couldn't have achieved what we have (30+ releases!) without you.... We had plans for 2020 but, ya know, 2020... On a positive note, how good were each of the Shitfest's?? @ Strangeworld Records
16.01.2022 The Wilful Boys are on tour and slinging brilliant new LP LIFE LESSONS. Louisville, KY tonight at Kaiju with Timmy's Organism followed by Lamplighter, Memphis tomorrow... Limited copies remain of the Golden Rule edition, with cheap shipping for Europeans via HomelessVinyl.com.au
16.01.2022 DENNIS play FREE (gold coin donation for bushfire fundraising is appreciated) tonight at one of our favourite watering holes, The Merri Creek Tavern. Kicks off 8pm. Colour wax almost entirely gone, including Europe and USA copies. Here's what the knowledgeable folk at Round And Round records had to say about it: "DENNIS are four local gents from such esteemed high-grade/low-rent rock & roll units of yore as THE SAILORS and BITS OF SHIT. They're now a little older and perhaps ...no wiser, but they've made a really great album in the process. You'd have to be a smokin' joker not to hear the distinct GERMS influence in their music and Darby inflections in the vocals - not a bad thing! Throw in some early SAINTS, ADOLESCENTS and Born Innocent-era REDD KROSS and you're orbiting the DENNIS universe." LP available at only the finest record stores and mailorder operations across the globe.
15.01.2022 One of our nastiest releases is 7 years old today. Sold out on preorder. Good on you if you snared one...
11.01.2022 Twelve months ago we had the pleasure of partnering with SIMON JOYNER by releasing his excellent Pocket Moon album. We hope to continue to work with Simon in 2021, with 2020 being a write-off. an artist whose work consistently transcends the narrow parameters of genre classifications and record shop bin cards. Though his music has always honored, reckoned with wrestled with the tradition set forth by his songwriting forebears (Cohen, Van Zandt, Ochs, Dylan, Reed to name ...a few), Joyner can always be counted on to defy expectations; as a lyricist, melodicist, and arranger, Joyner likes to keep us on our toes. Omaha has given us the reigning heir to Henry Miller’s dark emotional mirror, Townes Van Zandt’s three-chord moan, and Lou Reed’s warehouse minimalism: his name is Simon Joyner. 11.01.2022 The excellent reviews keep flowing for Simon Joyner's POCKET MOON. Available now.
10.01.2022 6 years ago saw Homeless reissue (originally on Tenzenmen, 2013) the excellent, sadly underrated noise-rock wonder that is Mission Bulb by Sydney trio YES I'M LEAVING. Please listen to the few tracks we'll post here, you can thank us later. "Riffs violently interject in an attempt to make a point, loudly colliding over the top with the more consistent rhythms. Guitars dominate. Muddling and rushing through their formations, creating the crux of the record's impulsiveness. Mos...t songs are presented as skeleton structures, stomping out the obviously hollowed signs of fragility with a bolstered front-foot aggression. After all, confidence is the king of our confused settlement. This attacking method melts into a violent discord, with the consistent forthrightness often overflowing, causing the music itself to unceremoniously implode into a heap, relying on a plainspoken solitary lyric to retain some sense of order. But it's mostly just a fucking mess. A beautiful f*cking mess. It churns on through it's own missteps, ignores it's shortcomings, it's unplanned shifts and turns. Even when it seems to be building to a logical sense of control, it interjects with a chaotic vehement of life (Creepyman). It's a record that's both tauntingly self-confident (You Can Try) and self-depreciatingly unsure of itself (Undertow). Confused, but comfortable and completely aware of the surrounding disorder." - Jonny (Polaroids of Androids) "Someone lift them up, drop them into controlled situations and watch chaos blossom." - Doug Mosurock (Still-Single) https://youtu.be/VO_AmOymsEk
10.01.2022 "Combining an absolutely filthy chugging guitar sound with cacophonic production, DENNIS spits out 11 pissed-off tracks shaped by proto-punk like Crime, early hardcore à la Germs, and garage-punk like Dead Moon." - 50ThirdAnd3rd Released 12 months ago today and, like a good 'ol Trump-dumping, the world became a better place. One colour vinyl copy left in Australia and a couple in the U.S.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YidCrvbAhIY
10.01.2022 "... they learned to incorporate influences more seamlessly, moving from a Birthday Party-style Original Wildman band with early Nirvana moments of heavy rhythmic slam to a band that dialed back the obvious signposts and track lengths into something more intensely focused on movement and ballistics of their sound. Mission Bulb has great moments (Hey! My Soul Will Heal has been rattling around my bones for a while now)..." - Doug Mosurock (Still-Single) https://youtu.be/xZC35Ap2nP8
09.01.2022 Their fractions might be a little out but nothing wrong with their hearing over at 50THIRDAND3RD as DENNIS The Enthusiast receives the Album of the Week accolade. 50thirdand3rd have premiered the entire LP, stream it below and buy from the link provided. Limited colour edition is just that... LIMITED! There's only a very small number left at our EU and USA warehouses. Ultra cheap shipping for European and American buyers.
09.01.2022 Thanks Mick. Have loved every album of Bad Breeding, in particular 2019's EXILED. Colour wax edition of LIFE LESSONS almost all gone. (sold out in Europe except for X-Mist distro)
07.01.2022 Released today! Only at Greville Records and Strangeworld Records just now with more to follow next week (the good ones anyway). Ask your local store - they can easily order it from Homeless distribution.... Another excellent review, this time by Raven Sings The Blues: "It’s been said that Joyner is your favorite songwriter’s favorite songwriter, and that’s largely true, but if he hasn’t found his way into your own repertoire until now, this is a fantastic starting point. Wade deep, and then swim backwards into his vast revue. In the meantime, Pocket Moon is working its way the essentials list for 2019 and getting hard to beat."
06.01.2022 The fine folk at 50THIRDAND3RD know a cracking album when they hear it and, from across the pond, shoved and cajoled Homeless into letting them premiere a new track from DENNIS debut album. As they declare, it's "raw and viciously menacing, it struts like a pill-pooping deranged stalker throbbing lustily with dirty Stooges punk rawk, and proto-grunge noise." Always beware pooping stalkers. Vanessa at The Labour In Vain has a strict NO POOPING STALKERS policy, so you're safe t...his Friday 15th Nov as DENNIS launch The Enthusiast, with Michael Beach (solo) and Leon and the Freedom Cage. FREE. Michael Beach kicks things off from 8:15pm.
06.01.2022 Oops. Seems we haven't let Homeless followers know about the release of the The Wilful Boys follow up to Rough As Guts, LIFE LESSONS. Ask your local record store, they know where to order it, or can be found at a bunch of mailorders around the world.
04.01.2022 Gentlemen are yet another great new band from Melbourne. Together with Cuntz they are the brightest star of the Aussie noise-punk landscape. Gentlemen made a record that’s noisy, tweaked and distorted. They play ugly punk that lands somewhere right up to the edge of the full-blown, raw rock’n’roll sound of 90s Crypt releases yet at it’s heart, is closest to the nihilism and dirtiness of Flipper, Brainbombs and Stickmen With Rayguns." - Ride A Dove Released 7 years ago - prio...r to that on cassette - and sold out on preorder, with few copies hitting stores. At 300 copies only - and with the benefit of hindsight - we shoulda pressed more. Members have gone on to other fine, noisey / hardcore acts, Geld being one standout, who continue to astound with each release. There's usually a few copies floating around in the States but rarely in Australia... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0J0llBCoqYo
03.01.2022 *** SHIPPING NOTES *** OVERSEAS *** We recently dropped the price of shipping to Europeans outside of France to a low AUD $5. Yep, just FIVE BUCKS!! Order 10 LPs and pay only $5. (it's still cheap for French folk: AUD $11 for one LP, $13 for eight). In the U.S., we ship out of New York via Media Mail and our man-on-the-ground, Fisher. It's also bloody cheap, about the same as the French shipping rates. *** SHIPPING NOTES *** AUSTRALIA *** ... Within Australia, all three forthcoming releases can be shipped for just $13. NOTE: to help you beat shipping costs (we hate paying for shipping as much as you do!), we're prepared to do the following... If you place an order with our store - Strangeworld Records - that meets (THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART) the free shipping qualification of $125, you can select "Pickup from Strangeworld" from the Homeless shipping options (you'll need to enter a VIC 3000 postcode) and mention in the notes you'll be placing a Strangeworld order mid-late October / early November (set a reminder for yourself!) and for us to include the Homeless purchase with that order. (cheaper shipping and pickup option is not possible if using the Bandcamp system, it's not THAT functional...) Geez we're good to you! Thanks for all the support!!
