25.01.2022 I got heaps of content for the bar build which I’m excited to share with you guys! This piece is for our home and will be a cabinet for the very small amount of wine bottles and large amount of scotch bottles Starts off with some messmate panels glued up and in this clip I’m filling any imperfections with black resin.... Watch till the end to see how the resin is removed with the sander. #Woodworking #workshop #palletfurniture #reclaimedtimber #upcycledpallets #melbournetimber #melbournewoodworker #customdesign #palletdesign #interiorstyling #smallbusinessowner #woodshoplife #australianwoodworker #homermade #reclaimedpalletfurniture #makita #woodworker #makestuff #shop #handcrafted #handmade #carpentry #recycledpallets #makita #melbournebusiness See more

23.01.2022 Big table build! Ones the table was out of the clamps and cut square it was onto the sanding! I should also mention before sanding there was 2-3 rounds of epoxy filling. Heaps and heaps of sanding. I didn’t bother posting it cos let’s face it, sanding is boring af but I have got some tips and tricks that will feature in the longer format YouTube video.... After sanding, I added a soft round over edge with the trim router. I did this on the top and bottom sides to ensure no sharp edges. #Woodworking #workshop #homermade #melbournebusiness #madenotbought #diningtable #bigtable See more

22.01.2022 Big table build! Ever wondered how to build a big dining table? The first step in the process (after a few sketches) is to pick out the material.... Here we have some 150mm x 50mm thick recycled messmate. This timber came out of an old police station in regional Victoria. The timber was purchased milled and square so all the hard work was done! #Woodworking #workshop #homermade #melbournebusiness #madenotbought #diningtable #bigtable See more

20.01.2022 Following on from the bar build it was time to whack in the back of the cabinet. A rebate, rabbet , groove or recess (which ever you prefer) was cut into the carcass with a router. This allowed the black melamine panel to slide in and sit flush. Glue and few screws and she was good to go!... #Woodworking #workshop #bar #build #homermade #diy #interior #style #home #decor #custom #made #furniture See more

15.01.2022 Desk Build! COVID has wifey working a lot more at home so I though it was time to revamp our home office. This started with a new desks for us both. ... Have a watch how each new HomerMade Woodworking project starts. Picking out the timber suitable for the project, in this case it was some nice 105x32 messmate with nice gum veins. I had just enough for these desks! #Woodworking #workshop #homermade #melbournebusiness #madenotbought #diningtable #desk #office #workspace #work #homeoffice See more

15.01.2022 Desk Build! After all the lengths were cut to size it was time to glue all the boards together. Each desk is 1700 x 620 and will be cut down to final size later on. ... Biscuits and clamps are my go to for a glue up and this was no different. A few boards lifted up while the clamps were tightened. Best way to combat that is to use a few scraps lengths and clamp them along the boards. This will stop the boards from lifting up. #Woodworking #workshop #homermade #melbournebusiness #madenotbought #diningtable #desk #office #workspace #work #homeoffice See more

14.01.2022 Desk Build is done! Check out the final result of our new corner desk! Messmate 1700mm x 600mm finished in @osmo_australia matte.... 14.01.2022 Big table build! Once all the timber was cut to length it was time to glue! I ended up with 8 boards so I decided to glue two boards together at a time. This would make it easier to run them through the thicknesser and decrease wood movement when it came time for the final glue up. Better to glue up 4 boards then 8.... I counted 224 biscuits used on this project! I think that’s a record for me #Woodworking #workshop #homermade #melbournebusiness #madenotbought #diningtable #bigtable See more

12.01.2022 Big table build! Friday is leg day! since the gym is closed, it’s table leg day! A quick edit of how I attached the dining table legs to the top.... 11.01.2022 Big table build! One of the final steps of the dining table build was to apply finish. For all my tables I use @osmo_australia poly x oil and this table I used the matte option. Applying a thin coat with a foam roller then buffing it to almost dry. Repeat this a few times and it comes up the goods... #Woodworking #workshop #homermade #melbournebusiness #madenotbought #diningtable #bigtable See more

09.01.2022 Desk Build! Last step of the desk build was to attach the legs and mount the Striplox connectors. The legs were fixed to the tops with screws, but the two tops were joined together with the 180D Striplox connectors from @timbecon... These connectors allow the desk to come apart easily, yet secure righty to each other. First time using them and was definitely impressed! #Woodworking #workshop #homermade #melbournebusiness #madenotbought #diningtable #desk #office #workspace #work #homeoffice See more

07.01.2022 Big table build! Once the 4 pieces that make up the top were glued together it was onto trimming the table down to size. Heaps of pipe clamps were used to keep things held together and the @makitaaustralia track saw got a workout trimming this beast down to size.... For our space I could only go as big as 2.1m x 1.2m. Still heaps to go, but making progress at this point! #Woodworking #workshop #homermade #melbournebusiness #madenotbought #diningtable #bigtable See more

06.01.2022 One more big table build post, maybe! Moving the table from the workshop into the house was tough and I had some help cos it was so heavy! Once inside the legs were attached and it was flipped over and bang! This table will be in our family for a long time and many events will be celebrated around it! 01.01.2022 Time for a bit of chop chop on the bar build. To cut the mitres I used my track saw. Set the angle to 45 degrees and after a few passes they were cut.
