21.01.2022 The 6th World Homeshare Congress was really excellent. The first Congress back in 2009 had 5 countries participating and about 40 passionate homeshare advocates in attendance. 10 years later the gathering has expanded to 17 countries represented and just on 200 attendees, all of whom are running or aspiring to run Homeshare programs! How good is that! HANZA is proud to be part of such a strong and growing movement. Homeshares time has come!

16.01.2022 Here's a welcome respite from Covid-19: this Sunday's episode of Compass is about ... Homeshare! The episode, entitled "Perfect Match", documents the matching process, following several pairs of householders and homesharers as "they are matched, meet and hopefully hit it off." Tune in at 6:30pm this Sunday 29 March on ABC and ABC HD!

14.01.2022 HANZA is really pleased to see a trial of intergenerational shared living happen in resi care in Australia! We have studied the Humanitas Deventer project with great interest and have hoped that something similar could happen here. We have also talked with similar projects in other countries at the recent World Homeshare Congress in Belgium which are all demonstrating the value of this model. One of our Melbourne Homeshare programs is trialling a 'homeshare' match of a young homesharer living with a group of nine elderly nuns! Working so well! We look forward to hearing about the outcomes of this USC trial. Beris Campbell

12.01.2022 If you missed the homeshare-centric episode of the ABC's "Compass" program back in February, then here's some good news: it's being screened again! The episode will run on this Sunday's edition of Compass, which is at 6:30pm on ABC and ABC HD. The program revisits one of homeshare's most successful matches, between Margaret Stones and Bernard Xu (pictured), which was the subject of another episode of Compass back in 2010. It also documents the matching process, following a n...ew match -- between retiree Loris Barrington and architect Gunhild Krogsdam -- through its inception and the first few weeks of sharing. Both matches give fascinating insights into various aspects of homeshare, and the episode as a whole is really lovely viewing; as we said back in February, we're delighted to see Homeshare being covered -- and covered so well! -- on such a venerable and well-respected program. We encourage everyone to tune in!
