24.01.2022 Memory Lane On November 2nd 2015 I took a massive leap of faith. On this day I posted my very first post to social media introducing my Homespun kokedamas. I had no idea what people would think, if they would hate them or love them. Gosh am I so glad I took that leap that day. Today I’ve sat and reflected over the past 5 years. I am so proud of where homespun began and where it is today. So much has happened over the years, new products, different creations and well over 15...000 kokedamas made. Sometimes it’s easy to forget how far you have come until you sit and really look back. I’m so glad I did this today, just to remind myself how proud I am of what I’ve achieved in 5 years & how far my creations have gone. So I want to say a massive thank you! Thank you so much to everyone that has followed my journey, supported me, pushed me & watched me grow. While doing this, this is a great opportunity to check for pests. Some common indoor plant pests are Mealy Bug, Spider Mite, aphids, gnats and scale just to name a few. 06.01.2022 Tips & tricks When is a good time to re pot your plants? This is a question that I’m asked often. The answer is through spring/summer. Your best to wait until the warmer weather hits. This prevents your leafy loves going into shock, especially here in Tasmania. If you have a plant that is in need of a re pot and is really struggling and you fear that you will loose it through winter, then definitely re pot, but otherwise your best to re pot during spring/summer. You’ll know... when your plants need upsizing if they start to show signs of being unhappy, roots coming out of the drainage hole or the soil is hard and no longer providing nutrients. It’s time to move your leafy loves to a larger home. Also, not plant related, but a shout out to local Launceston business Essence Skin & Hair for always helping me out with keeping my nails nice & strong! Working with soil, plants, twine & moss over the years has really taken a toll on my poor hands, and these girls always make them feel sooo much better.
