24.01.2022 Early last week in the torrential rain we staged this house in Ocean View. We had trucks skidding on the drive and stylists edging up the hill in driving rain and running on petrol fumes on the way home. The following day the sun came out and as these photos show, there really is a view out to the ocean. @mgk_photographer has captured this grand Queenslander beautifully. 05.01.2022 I started my Home Staging business 10 years ago literally as the 2011 floods hit Brisbane - not the best time to start a real estate related business concentrating on the Western Suburbs. 10 Years ago Property styling was a hard sell and agents were harder to sell to than homeowners. I wasn't just selling Home Staging Brisbane I was selling the whole category and I struggled to show the value that staging provided (or as one client told me to my face "I don...'t see the value in staging and I don't see the value in you") The business was slow in the first couple of years and I made so little there was no tax to pay. My husband sat me down a couple of times and told me it was too much work for not enough reward but I kept going. I knew there was a market for styling in Brisbane and I wanted to be a part of it. More than that I wanted a company that was mine, that helped others, and made some money for my family in the process. I've made lots of mistakes, I've struggled to switch off and I've had many sleepless nights, moments of overwhelm, and my share of haters. I've learned a lot, but more than anything I've learned that by just consistently chipping away and refusing to give up I've built a business that's survived its first 10 years, and for that, I'm very grateful See more

03.01.2022 I started Home Staging Brisbane nearly 10 years ago. Like all stagers my car during that time has had to be part van, part storage shed and part office. I’ve taken kids to school with inventory squeezed around them, I’ve spent many evenings unpacking and packing my car when all I wanted to do was collapse in a heap after a long install. For me success was never about the big car, it was about the small one. It meant that I’d got to a point that I wasn’t the one lugging the inventory around, I had others to help me. I’ve gone from the person who thought they had to do it all to the person who has realised that by growing my company by asking for help we can serve more agents and their clients. Today I picked up my new Mini. It’s not for carting inventory around or for that matter kids. It’s a car for me and I’m so grateful.
