23.01.2022 To all our Chinese students, hosts, guardians, agents and everyone associated with them; we wish you health and prosperity for 2018, the year of the Dog. If you have anyone in your circle born under this sign, keep them close. Honest and loyal, Dogs are the truest friends and most reliable partner. Happy new year!

22.01.2022 Yarra Valley Grammar students join their host familly for a birthday celebration at the local bowling alley. STRIKE!!!

18.01.2022 To our hosts in the Oakleigh area: we are seeking 10 families to each host a Japanese child attending Oakleigh Grammar School on a short study tour. There are 5 boys and 5 girls aged approximately 15 years old. This is a GREAT opportunity for families whose children are learning Japanese at school (e.g Huntingdale Primary, Oakleigh South Primary and Bentleigh Secondary) so if you know anyone involved with those schools, let them know. The group arrives on Friday 9th March and leaves on Wednesday 21st March. Contact Sheena Wilson on 0490 973 932 for more information.

16.01.2022 To our hosts: if your student is overseas for the school holidays, your payments from us will be adjusted to reflect this after the start of the new term (the holding room rate will be applied). Your next remittance advice will include an explanation notice to this effect.

14.01.2022 Young or old, we all love to feel special on our birthday, especially when far away from our loved ones. Treat your student to a cake, card and gift for their special day as was recently enjoyed by this young man turning 17.

14.01.2022 Just a few important reminders for our hosts: 1. School holidays are on the horizon so check in with your student to see what their plans are. If they are heading home, they need to submit a leave form at http://www.homestayceta.com/request-for-leave-from-homestay/ Most schools conclude on Friday 22nd September (Yarra Valley Grammar on 15th September).... 2. Look out for emails from your home stay officer as we often have important information to share which can only be done by email.

11.01.2022 CETA Homestay wishes you all a peaceful and prosperous 2018.

08.01.2022 Everyday is someone's special day and last month it was the turn of a Croydon-based student celebrating his 17th birthday. His hosts kindly put on a bit of party for him with some of his friends and of course, a cake! Such simple acts of kindness can mean the world when you are far from home.

08.01.2022 Thai students on the recent Yarra Road Primary School tour. What brave children to travel overseas without mum and dad!

06.01.2022 Australia is famously a melting pot of cultures due to its largely migrant population. So where do we Melburnians all come from? Check out this interesting article to find out. http://www.theage.com.au//this-map-shows-where-migrants-fr

01.01.2022 If you are hosting a year 12 student, you may be interested in checking out the 2017 VCE exam timetable at the link provided below. This may help you support your guest with "brain food" and extra quiet time! http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/pages/vce/exams/timetable.aspx Note that the Chinese First Language exam is near the end of the exam timetable (Monday 20th November) so students may be planning to return home shortly after this date.
