Some of us were quick to dig for their cannon which landed them in the hoosegow. We caterwauled and hoe-downed to Johnny Cash, John Denver, Kenny Rogers and Dolly Patron. It was a fun day had by all, yee haww!!

10.01.2022 For the Indian Independence Days celebration , Anahita, our physiotherapist, taught the residents how to drape their scarves. The lovely cleaning team demonstrated their dancing skills and brought in their saris for residents to try on. Our receptionist, Sharron, wore the traditional Indian salwar-kameez attire. We learnt some Indian history; we painted mandalas and ate samosas, onion bhajias and tandoori chicken. What a great day!

05.01.2022 It was footy fever at Homestead Estate! We dressed up in our AFL teams colours and played a game of bean bag toss. Our competitors were Dulcie for Collingwood, Faye for Essendon, Bella for Port Adelaide, Errol for Richmond and Eric for West Coast Eagles.

05.01.2022 Our Homestead Estate chef, Nash, enchanted all of our senses with some Indian delicacies. We all enjoyed the curry potato cakes and vegetable fritters. Yum!

05.01.2022 Errol has received a new pair of shoes and a Forrest Gump cap from the General Manager of Homestead Estate, Kelly, for his amazing effort and contribution to TLC’s 100 Days of Health walking challenge. Errol walked 2,300,041 steps in 100 days. It is an average of 23,000 steps a day. Congratulations Errol! And thank you.

04.01.2022 Remembrance Day is observed on 11 November in most countries to recall the end of hostilities of First World War on that date, in 1918. It honours the sacrifice and loss of those who have served during wartime to defend our freedom and democracy. Many of our residents at TLC Aged Care either served or have family and friends who have served. The story of Remembrance Day is one of service and care for each other. It is this story with which the TLC community connects to the... ethos and meaning of Remembrance Day through our Mission and Values. This has been epitomised throughout this year as we have worked tirelessly to keep our residents, patients and each other safe and well. Lest We Forget.

04.01.2022 Ali, from the Homestead Estates Wellbeing Team, is getting married! We had a lot of fun making her a mock wedding dress out of toilet paper and trying to catch the bouquet that Ali tossed. The wedding memories came flooding back and we enjoyed sharing our stories. We also gave Ali some sound marriage advice. "Dont sleep on an argument", "love more when you receive less", "trust and love", "something old, new, borrowed and blue", "take photos", and "be good to your husband and take care of him".

03.01.2022 The Christmas spirit has arrived at Homestead Estate. We made some very special Christmas baubles for the residents' families’ Val made great earrings. Jean and Edna decorated the table trees. We cannot wait to wrap our gifts and give them to our beloved families.

Due to the current access restrictions at our homes, many volunteers are not able to provide the support to our residents that they usually do. We are thinking of you, and the residents will be missing your visits. We look forward to welcoming you back to our homes when life returns to normal.

01.01.2022 The arts and crafts session at Homestead Estate was all about Alice in Wonderland. We made themed tea cups out of paper and hung them on the tea cup tree Val and Elaine decorated their cups with feathers and stickers, Wendy picked a great place to hang her cup on the tree and so did Sandra and Ken.
