20.01.2022 Homestead Hay was established in 2016. We make and sell hay from our 200 acre property in Irrewarra Victoria. Our objective is to have good quality hay available all year at a fair price. We are horse people. Our approach is to only sell hay that we would be more than happy to feed to our own horses.... Our hay crops include ryegrass based pasture, ryegrass and clover, pure clover, lucerne and oats. We also have chaff for sale made from our hay.

15.01.2022 Our oats is also growing well. This is Forester Oats planted in May this year. Forester is a late maturing oat which should allow us to make the hay before the grain develops. 12.01.2022 Just letting everyone know we are still delivering hay and will continue to unless restriction require us to stop. To minimise risk we would prefer payments by bank transfer. I am happy to communicate electronically and deliver unassisted so you can keep your distance, stay inside or be in your car. Lets stay safe and keep your animals fed.

11.01.2022 How do we know if our hay is good? Hay quality is determined by three factors: 1. The quality of the crop used to make hay. 2. What time in the crop lifecycle the hay was cut. 3. How well the hay was cured.... In later posts we will describe these factors and rate our hay.
