24.01.2022 An investment in extended care and support to 21 is more than financial. It is an investment in individual young people who have the potential to become active, contributing young adults who enrich our community. Let's finish what we started and #makeit21: http://thehomestretch.org.au/

18.01.2022 Over 100 Home Stretch supporter orgs believe the care system should support vulnerable youth until they're 21. Are you involved with, or know, an organisation who should be on this list? Please get in touch! The campaign links in with work in youth affairs, social justice and issues, homelessness and housing, health, and more.

18.01.2022 We are so thrilled with today's announcement that Extended Care to 21 years will be universal for all young Victorians in care! "This is the most significant reform to child welfare in a generation" Chair Paul McDonald said Read our MR https://bit.ly/3q60G8q ... #makeit21 See more

17.01.2022 We'd like to highlight progress around Australia on extended care - starting with South Australia! In June 2018, extended foster and kinship care was announced. We are continuing the call for options for young people in residential care. There was no specific entitlement for care leavers announced as part of a COVID-19 response. 13.01.2022 "Queensland’s major parties have so far ignored an opportunity in the lead-up to the election to give the most vulnerable young people in state care a better start to their adult lives, leaving the state out of step with most of the country." It's time to #makeit21: Queensland Labor Annastacia Palaszczuk MP & Deb Frecklington MP

12.01.2022 With the Queensland election rushing up to meet us, there is a simple reform that could be life changing and even life-saving for the state’s most vulnerable young people.

05.01.2022 It's great to have support from Fiona Patten MP on #makeit21! Extended care to 21 needs to be available for all.

04.01.2022 Right now, most young people in Victoria who need support to 21 are missing out. We hope tomorrow's state budget delivers life-changing news for young people in care. #makeit21 https://www.facebook.com/FionaPattenMP/posts/5022844787733330

03.01.2022 Young people in state care should have a place they call home and support until the age of 21. That's at the heart of the Home Stretch campaign. Get involved and sign the #makeit21 pledge: http://thehomestretch.org.au/

03.01.2022 Young people in care deserve to look forward to their 18th birthday , not to fear it. #makeit21 This perspective from an anonymous residential care leaver was part of the Beyond 18 Longitudinal Study from Australian Institute of Family Studies https://aifs.gov.au//beyond-18-longitudinal-study-leaving-

02.01.2022 Why should foster care be extended to age 21? Take this care leaver's perspective, who understands how challenging it was to be on their own at 18. Sign the pledge to #makeit21 around Aus: http://thehomestretch.org.au/

01.01.2022 Looking for a reminder of how extended care to 21 will benefit society? Young people will win with halved youth homelessness rates, and are twice as likely to have a job or be in higher education. The community is a winner as it reduces offending and arrests by a third. The Queensland Government is a winner as it will get a return on investment of $2.80 for every $1 it spends on extended care.... It's time to #makeit21
