25.01.2022 PSEUDO RENO SCHEME RELEASED - $25k Boost! I'm a BIG fan of most of what the Feds have done to date to keep us afloat during this panicdemic (only one i'm still scratching my head about is the doubling of the N/Start to existing recipients)! But this latest one also has me scratching my head... In 20yrs of helping people get into homes, I can't recall the last time I had anyone spend more than $150k on a reno, who's combined income was under $200k! I would suggest you'll count... on one hand how many take this little ripper of a scheme up! But, if you're a 1st HO or looking to build again, cup your hands for another handout... The details: Available only to owner-occupiers who sign a contract to start building or substantially renovating their property after 4 June 2020. Individuals earning up to $125000 pa - Couples $200000 pa. New homes valued up to $750,000 (including land), or renovations worth between $150,000 and $750,000 where final property value doesn't exceed $1.5 million. Investment properties or renos outside the house like swimming pools, tennis courts, outdoor spas and saunas, sheds or garages are all excluded! Oh, & one other concern...they're asking the State Govt's to administer! Poke me in the eye now... ;)
