23.01.2022 Penrite Oil Honda Motorcycles International imports Gavin Faith (USA), Anthony Rodriguez(Venezuela) and Jimmy Decotis (USA) had their first look at Bathurst Showgrounds world-class Supercross track and their opposition, during a special on-track media session this morning. After walking the 800m purpose-built track, the international stars got their first look at some of their Australian opponents, riding alongside championship contenders including multiple Australian superc...ross and motocross champion Dan Reardon (CDR Yamaha), defending SX1 title holder Matt Moss (Motul Pirelli Suzuki) and DPH Motorsports Lawson Bopping. Faith, who won the Australian Supercross SX2 title in 2012 and 2014 will step up to the SX1 (450cc) class in what will be his fifth consecutive supercross season with Penrite Honda Racing in Australia. Its awesome to be back in Australia, said Faith. This year I step up to the SX1 (450cc) class which is exciting. I am looking forward to racing against guys like Matt Moss, Dan Reardon and Kirk Gibbs. The track is quite a bit bigger than last year, there is an extra rhythm section which will definitely spice things up a bit. Venezuelan Anthony Rodriguez will line-up with Faith in the SX1 class. The 20 year-old will has won national motocross titles in both Venezuela and the USA and said he is looking forward to making his Australian debut tomorrow night. We got to ride some of the track this morning and it is coming together nicely, Rodriguez said. This is my first time to Australia so everything is new to me here. I am excited to get out there and race tomorrow. 24 year-old American Jimmy Decotis completes the Penrite Honda trio and is touted is one of the emerging stars of Americas premier AMA Supercross Championship. Decotis finished fifth in the 2015 AMA Supercross East Coast Lites Championship and will contest the competitive Australian Supercross SX2 class. With capacity fields, an incredible line-up of leading Australian and international racers, as well as freestyle motocross and monster truck mayhem, this weekends opening round of the Supercheap Auto 2015 Australian Supercross Championship is an event not to be missed.. Tickets to the event are available for pre purchase at ww.ticketebo.com.au/supercrossbathurst or can be purchased tomorrow at gate. Gates will open at 3pm with racing to get underway at 7.00pm. #thormx #gopro #pirelli
22.01.2022 The Penrite Oil Honda Motorcycles team are looking to up the ante at tonights Energy Logistix third round of the Australian Supercross Championship presented by Penrite Oils at Adelaide Showgrounds. Dual Australian SX2 Champion Gavin Faith, who has stepped up to the SX1 class (450), currently sits equal third in the standings while teammate and fellow American Jimmy Decotis holds a 10 point lead the SX2 title chase. Faith, who finished third at the season opener in Bathurst,... has spent the past two weeks testing after a disappointing result in Jimboomba a fortnight ago. I had a crash in practice in Jimboomba and it knocked me about. These past two weeks have allowed me to settle in, do some testing and find a rhythm. The track looks great, I am feeling good and I will be chasing a podium finish tonight." Despite the 10-point buffer Jimmy Decotis said he isnt taking anything for granted. Ten points isnt a lot and there are plenty fast guys in the class, Decotis said. I have been able to settle in these past two weeks and get used to the time difference and the new bike. My Honda is fast and we have now dialled in it to my liking a little better. The teams third rider Anthony Rodriguez returned home to the USA following Round 2 after struggling with injuries sustained in crashes earlier in the year. I crashed mid year at home and again at the Motocross of Nations, Rodriquez explained. I didnt feel right and I need more time to heal. I would like to thank everyone for giving me this opportunity. Team principal Yarrive Konsky said he is looking forward to seeing Supercross return to the famous Adelaide Showgrounds. I raced here growing up and I enjoyed it, Konsky said. The crowd really get behind racing in South Australia so I am looking forward to tonights event. Jimmy and Gavin have spent more time riding and acclimatizing and they are both looking a lot more comfortable on the bikes." The Energy Logistix third round of the 2015 Australian Supercross Championship presented by Penrite Oils is on tonight at Adelaide Showgrounds. Tickets are available at the gate. #sxaus #supercross #gopro #pirelli #thormx
22.01.2022 Penrite Honda Racings Ben Townley took the overall MX1 win at the final round of the 2015 MX Nationals at Coolum Pines Motocross track yesterday. The former World Motocross Champion won the opening 30minute moto before finishing second in the final race of the year. This victory awarded the Penrite Honda team its third podium for the season. Taking a win at the final round was hard fought," Townley explained. "The track was tough and my rivals are riding really well. I am p...articularly impressed with some of the younger riders coming through,. I was happy with my win in the first moto, it wasnt easy, I had to fight for it. In the second race I rode smart, I came from eighth and caught Adam Monea. "I didnt need to put myself in a vulnerable position so I settled for second. I still have a big month ahead with the MXGP in America and the MXoNns in France, Townley continued. The team worked tirelessly testing and building a new bike for Townley and his appreciation was evident during his podium speech. I have asked a lot of everyone, coming in mid-season places a lot of pressure on a team and the guys worked really hard to give me what I needed to get the job done. This is the best the team has been. Teammate Cody Cooper proved again he has the speed, setting the second fastest lap time to Townley in Moto 2. However after struggling with the arm pump that has plagued him all year, he went from leading comfortably to 12th. Cooper finished the championship eighth in the MX1 standings and was disappointed with his results this year. The team deserved better than this, Cooper said. Ben showed we had the bikes to get the job done and in the final race I proved to myself and the team my speed isnt the question. I cant change the past and I need to learn from everything this year. I am getting older and I need to change my training if I am going to be competitive against these young riders. Team Principal Yarrive Konsky commended his team for their hard work and dedication throughout the season. As a team we worked harmoniously and Bens result in the three rounds he raced are a reflection of everyones hard work. The Honda CRF450R is an exceptional motorcycle and winning the final round was rewarding as all of our partners are deserving of winning result. The Penrite Honda Racing team will now commence preparation for the 2015 Australian Supercross Championship which starts on October 10th in Bathurst, NSW.

21.01.2022 This was important to me. I spoke to Taylor before he left for Germany and arranged this and I feel blessed to know his mum knew before she passed. Her love for the sport was equal to mine, her commitment to her sons dream was something I admired and at times envied. We are looking forward to an amazing weekend Taylor Potter

16.01.2022 Popular supercross racer Taylor Potter will join the Penrite Honda Racing team for this weekends final round of the 2015 Penrite Australian Supercross Championship presented by Ryco Filters at Melbournes Knights Stadium. The likeable and hardworking Victorian raced to second overall in the 2014 SX2 championship and has been tenaciously chasing his dream in America, and more recently Germany, during the Australian off season. Potter, who will line-up in the premier SX1 class... (450cc) has endured a trying year dealing with injuries and the devastating recent loss of his mother Jennie after a long battle with cancer. Although he acknowledges a podium is a long shot, Potter believes anything can happen once the gate drops and sait he is determined to finish this year on a high. I approached Yarrive (Konsky) to see if he had a bike he could lend me to use to prepare for Germany. As well as lending me the bike, he also offered me a ride in the final round, Potter said. This isnt the first time Yarrive has helped me behind the scenes with a bike to practice on. There have been several occasions where I have called on a favour. It has definitely been a really tough year, I raced injured in America and my family and I have been dealing with my mothers cancer. I got the call up whilst I was in Germany to fly home and Mum passed away last week. I know she is in a happier place now and I will be riding for her this weekend, as well as my entire family and friends. Mum always used to say that I have two arms and two legs like every other rider so I have the same chance they have once the race starts. I will be giving it my all this weekend and I hope everyone comes out to support the event, Potter continued. Team Principal Yarrive Konsky approached Potter prior to his departure for Germany with the offer to contest the final round of the Australian Supercross Championship with the Penrite Honda Racing team. When Anthony Rodriguez left due to personal illness we wanted to fill his spot, Konsky explained. I felt Taylor deserved an opportunity and we provided him with a Honda CRF450 to ride and prepare for both the final round and the German series. It has been a tough year for Taylor and I would love nothing more than to see him end the year on a high, surrounded by friends, family and fans. I have known Jennie and Taylor for more than 10 years. I remember coaching Taylor as a junior and the enthusiasm and support he had from his family was infectious. As the current number two rider in the SX2 championship Taylor deserved this ride and personally I needed Jennie to know that her son rode for the factory Honda team. I believe Taylor can run inside the top five and I am looking forward to having him in our colours on the weekend, Konsky added. The final round of the 2015 Penrite Australian Supercross Championhip will be held at Melbournes Knights Stadium on Saturday 5 December.

15.01.2022 The Penrite Honda Racing team will be hoping to close out the 2015 MX Nationals season with a positive result at Coolum Pines Motocross Track this Sunday. World Champion Ben Townley and reigning New Zealand MX1 Champion Cody Cooper are both looking for strong results as they prepare for the upcoming Motocross of Nations. Townley finished third at last weekends penultimate round in Toowoomba, but said he was disappointed with his result. ... I was disappointed with last weekends results, Townley explained. I rode tight and that tired me out. I have taken some time out this week to rest the body and I am looking forward to this weekend. I like Coolum and have won races there before. Townelys teammate Cody Cooper is unsettled with the seasons results and hopes to finally make amends this weekend It has been a terrible season for me and I am disappointed for the team as the bikes are amazing and Ben has proven that. I really need to bring my A-game this weekend. I want to end the season on a positive note The team is also supporting the MX Nationals initiative to dedicate the Grand Finale of this years season, to raising funds and awareness for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Both Penrite Honda riders will race with new graphics kits on Sunday thanks to TAKT and specially made THOR MX gear. The team will donate the riders THOR MX gear to a special auction that will be held at the track on Sunday. Team principal Yarrive Konsky said he was thrilled to support the initiative again this year. Last year the helmet that we auctioned raised over $4000, Konsky said. This year we have custom gear that is exclusive to this event. I hope people reach deep into their pockets for a good cause. The final round of the 2015 MX Nationals will be held at Coolum Pines Motorcross Track on Sunday 30 August. 15.01.2022 Cooper takes positives from Nowra whilst Townley rests his shoulder The Penrite Honda team made some positive inroads at Round 8 of the MX Nationals at Nowra on the weekend with Cody Cooper showing good pace following a solid fortnight of preparation leading into the event. Cooper finished the opening moto tenth and holeshot Moto 2, leading the opening laps of the race before dropping back through the order to seventh.... The New Zealand MX1 Champion finished the round eighth overall and sits ninth in the championship standings. I felt better on the weekend, said Cooper It is the first time I have led like that this season. The bike is great, I grabbed the holeshot but my bike fitness still isnt where it needs to be I need to work towards lifting my intensity on the bike. I learned a lot from the weekend. One thing that is glaringly apparent is that there is no one at home (NZ) riding full time but the riders here in Australia are riding together and against one another during the week which means their intensity is up all of the time, he added. Ben Townleys return on the weekend was short lived after a minor setback in practice prevented him from lining up for Moto 1. Everything felt great, I was easing into it during practice/qualifying and as I went in to a corner rut I lent in very low and my bars were scraping the embankment,Townley explained. It tore my hand back and kept the throttle on and threw me off. It all happened so fast as it was unexpected. The team and I talked and I was in some serious pain so we felt there was no need to risk it as I am not racing for the championship and have some more races I am committed to at the moment, which include the final two rounds of the MX Nationals, he continued. The Penrite Honda team is already back in Melbourne preparing for the final two rounds of the MX Nationals as well as the impending Australian Supercross Championship. *Image courtesy of Grant Rennie

04.01.2022 Penrite Honda Racing all set for Round 7 of the MX Nationals The Penrite Honda Racing team are all set for this weekends seventh round of the MX Nationals in their home state of Victoria. Team rider Cody Cooper has spent the past 10 days in Melbourne working with the team and is hopeful to find the form that helped him win this years New Zealand championship... It has been frustrating for me and the team, said Cooper. I expected more from myself. I have been Australia for the past 10 days and we have been working closely together to improve in some of the areas I have been lacking on race day. The teams second rider Ford Dale will be sorely missed this weekend. The 2012 MX Champion recently announced he was stepping away from racing to focus on his young family. Team principal Yarrive Konsky is happy with the progress the team has made with Cooper this week. We have worked on minor things, starts, gearing, and intensity, Konsky explained. We have sectionalised things and put an emphasis on making each section count. Overall I believe we have made some gains. The team has also worked closely with securing a deal with World Champion Ben Townley for some of the remaining MX Nationals events and looks forward to releasing information regarding this next week.
