25.01.2022 The Honey & Rose website has been launched! All Honey & Rose patterns and variations are available on the website as well as information on sizing, how to assemble PDF patterns and more. This is a massive milestone for my humble little indie sewing pattern company and couldn't have done it without the patience and support of my family after putting in some long hours to get it up and running. I can't wait to expand my product line and content this year, especially with this perfect platform to share it with you all at https://honeyandrose.com.au

22.01.2022 Daytripping further up the Blue Mountains yesterday and picked up this stunning cotton by Liberty London at Minerva's Bower. The quality of the fabric is amazing and I love the lemon print Conservatory Fruits. I'm not sure what I'll be making with it yet, but whatever it is will definitely look fun for spring later this year

20.01.2022 You may have guessed by now that I am a lover of pockets - drafting, sewing and hacking! There's nothing like having pockets big enough to actually fit your phone in one and keys and a snack in the other without them all falling out (which is why I think I add them to as many patterns as I can!) Are you a pocket lover? Or prefer an uninterrupted side or hip seam?

18.01.2022 Flashback to this stunning Muriel Top test make by @jadesovic2! This super bright and fun wax fabric inspires me to try bigger and brighter prints. I tend to use small prints or plains in my makes, do you have a particular type of fabric design you tend to favour or lean towards?

17.01.2022 Oh how I love block fusing! Block fusing is where you apply interfacing to your fabric in larger pieces so you can cut the pieces out already fused together instead of trying to match and line up interfacing and fabric pieces separately (which is not always, if at all anytime, fun!) It's perfect for any fused interfaced pieces, especially the waistband pieces of this Marie Skirt I'm making for my good friend @pics.by.a.purdy

14.01.2022 Never underestimate the importance of using the right bobbin for your machine! It's so easy to collect a variety during your sewing journey using and upgrading to different machines and being gifted with threads and bobbins. I've had metal bobbins kicking around for what seems like forever and recently bought some generic ones for 'modern machines'. I had so much trouble with tension and threads getting caught, I thought I would buy the Janome Sewing Machines bobbins to rule put any major issues with my machine and had instant success - back to happy sewing now!

11.01.2022 Feeling like the luckiest girl in the world after being given these amazing sewing gifts for my birthday last week from my husband and daughter So excited to sink my teeth into @laststitch's amazing jeans sewing book and update my old faded plastic sewing box with this beauty from Minerva's Bower. Not to mention the long anticipated follow up to The Dressmaker by @rosalie.ham

11.01.2022 Who else has been Christmas sewing? I managed to snap a few shots of this dress I drafted and made for my daughter before she ran off to play. I just love the fun Australian Christmas design on this beautiful Jocelyn Proust fabric I really enjoyed drafting and making it that I'm thinking of venturing into pattern design for children's sewing pattern designs next year, who's keen?! Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas

09.01.2022 With all the ups and downs of 2020 it was a great joy to release the Nancy Top and Rachel Cardigan patterns. Thank you to each and every one of you for your support this year! Looking to 2021 and I have some exciting new patterns in the works that I can't wait to share with you all. I'm now in the race to get as much prep work on them done as I can before our baby arrives! Have your sewing pattern choice preferences changed this year? Are you looking to sew more casual an...d work from home friendly patterns or still looking for clothes to make for those occasions you can go out and about? Wishing everyone a safe, happy and healthy New Year xx See more

08.01.2022 I've spent a lot of time doing behind the scene business and pattern work on the computer over the past few weeks, so was very satisfying to get back in front of the sewing machine tonight! Easing back into what will be a big month of sewing, I'm working on a Christmas dress for my little one, and thought I would do a pattern test first using an old sheet, which will hopefully turn out as a cute little polka dot dress!
