25.01.2022 "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas..."

21.01.2022 Congratulations to our Graduating Class of 2020. We are so proud of all you have achieved and know you will excel in your next chapter of life, ‘big school’. Remember to always reach for the stars ...

21.01.2022 They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them.

18.01.2022 Christmas is such a magical time at Honeybears Junior...

16.01.2022 On behalf of all of us, we would like to welcome back all of our beautiful families and children. We look forward to 2021 being an amazing year at Honeybears and Honeybears Junior.

15.01.2022 This week at Honeybears the children and educators celebrated NAIDOC week-the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. "The NAIDOC 2020 theme - Always Was, Always Will Be. - recognises and celebrates that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. NAIDOC 2020 invites all Australians to embrace the ancient history of this country a history which dates back thousands of generations".

09.01.2022 The Honey Cubs Project - Exploring our senses As we continue to explore our senses, the Honey Cubs were presented with a new sensory experience. Placed on the table in front of the children were an assortment of containers with different items hidden inside. The Honey Cubs looked with wonder as they approached the rectangles, curious as to what these items may be. Reaching out, they began to carefully touch the tactile objects one by one, experimenting with each of the mate...rials found inside. It was interesting to see the children's facial features change as they felt and discovered each of the mysterious objects inside. Throughout this experience the Honey Cubs explored their sensory skills, more specifically - their sense of touch. Developing our senses is extremely important for laying down the foundation for learning other skills. As they experimented and used their investigative skills the Honey Cubs were beginning to discover characteristics of objects within the world around them. This is the first step in classification, or sorting an important part of learning and discovery. It was so wonderful to witness the Honey Cubs be excited and enthusiastic about participating in this learning experience, as they took this opportunity to explore and be open to new discoveries.

08.01.2022 We would like to thank our lovely families for spoiling us this Christmas. We received so many beautiful and thoughtful gifts and are ever so grateful. Thank you for your ongoing support during this challenging year. Wishing our wonderful Honeybears community a very Merry Christmas and a safe a happy New Year See you in 2021

07.01.2022 As a soft breeze blew some leaves onto the warm and inviting deck area at Honebears Junior, small little fingers reached out to collect the green, yellow and partly brown leaves. Spontaneous learning is often the case when children are encouraged to play in natural elements, with a simple goal of learning more about the world around them. With the principles and practices of Reggio Emilia shaping our philosophy, this special moment inspired the Bear Cub educators to provide... a natural sensory play experience for the children to explore. Equipped with Australian natives, grown in our very own Honeybears Junior garden, magnifying glasses, and a small amount of water, the children were excited to explore. Small fingers started to break apart the flowers, stems, and leaves and watch as some floated on top, while other items sank to the bottom. This free play allows the children to learn through instinct and discover their senses while enthralled in the beauty of nature. What a fun way to learn more about how our wonderful world works! Through this experience, the children are gaining a strong sense of identity and are connected with and contribute to their world

07.01.2022 This week at Honeybears Junior we celebrated Australia Day! Integrated into the days were Australian inspired experiences which the children had the opportunity to engage in, explore, and discover. Australian native flowers were one of the many beautiful materials that were incorporated into the children’s play and environment
