10.01.2022 Today marks the beginning of 16 Days of Activism against gender based violence. ‘Call it Out’ and become better at building respectful relationships between people, because gender-based violence reduces when we support respectful relationships. It was so lovely to see teenagers Giannna and Charlotte at today’s launch immersed in learning/knowing that violence against women and girls is not ok!... A couple of years ago I ‘called out’ some violence against a woman and it was a scary thing to do. What shocked me was that so many people walked passed pretending they weren’t seeing or hearing the verbal abuse and physical threats that a vulnerable woman with a little child was receiving. It’s scary to stand up to the perpetrator and this is why we need to change our culture ... we all have a responsibility to protect one another and to not be shy in calling out behaviour that isn’t respectful. 08.01.2022 Scrolling through photos on the cannon and the delight of finding old memories. Wish we could turn back the clock and ask #kellykoochew what tips she has for all us parents that are managing the homeschool thing and work. Kel was Queen of the juggle ... and always made it fun, glamorous and effortless. #honeypotcreativesolutions #backintheday
07.01.2022 The biggest ‘can-do’ man!
06.01.2022 Today marks one year since we lost our amazing friend Kel It’s not easy to give voice to the thoughts and emotions we feel about the deep loss of our incredible friend. A stunning tree was planted in civic park by Baw Baw Shire this week in sweet memory of #kellykoochew and in recognition to her commitment to community.... This tree will forever be made special for Kel’s family and friends. We just wish Kel could be here to appreciate it. We remember how much Kel loved and appreciated the big trees everywhere she went and would talk with great expression about the beauty and wonderment - she loved them! Reflecting back Kelly had an incredible way of inspiring and leading others toward revealing their uniqueness - it was her gift! She had a presence and inner radiance that shone like a diamond. She knew her worth and was comfortable and content within herself making her genuine, grounded and blessed with more presence than anyone we ever knew. Kelly had a way of making you feel safe, like a light house serves to guide ships into safe harbour by shining its light out on to the sea - bolstering your feelings of self worth and making you believe you could do anything. Let’s all remember Kel today by sending out meaningful text messages to the people in our lives in the essence of encouragement, empowerment and love. Thank you to Michael Duncan for inspiring this idea of showing serious love to the people in our world. Michael articulates how Kelly always made you feel good about yourself in a way that nobody else could. Next Saturday Warragul Farmers Market will have a touch of pink in memory of Kel. Please come along and enjoy a market morning and visit her tree (it’s called KELLYS GOLD - how appropriate!). We love you Kelly Koochew and we honour you on this day
