02.01.2022 Training ***Important Information *** We were advised on 21 Mar 2020 that the Blacktown Council have now banned all group sessions in their facilities as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. This means that with effect immediately we have suspended all training activities. At this point in time we intend to resume training on the 28-Apr-2020 however we will reassess the situation and notify everyone if there is to be a change to that plan. All payments held will be ...held in credit against our resumption of training. Please note that unfortunately this also means the earlier advice in relation to grading is no longer valid. The grading which was to be held in April 2020 is now cancelled. The first grading for 2020 will now be held on 28 June 2020. Again any payments will be held in credit for the June grading. We apologize for having to take this action and the short notice, however the events are beyond our control and the health and interests of our members are foremost. While we are on the topic we urge you to continue a personal training regimen over this period. Stretching, simple exercise routines and practice of your patterns is encouraged. The following is from the Exercise & Sports Science Australia: Most Australians are currently nervous about the potential impact of COVID-19, and we wanted to take the opportunity to remind everyone that we should still consider physical activity for two key reasons. Firstly, research does show that exercise can support our immune system and secondly, exercise is proven to support our mental health, explains Anita Hobson-Powell, Chief Executive Officer of ESSA. Some contemporary evidence shows that leading a physically active lifestyle reduces the incidence of communicable (e.g., bacterial and viral infections) and non-communicable diseases (e.g., cancer), implying that immune competency is enhanced by regular exercise bouts. Other recent research supported this fact by establishing that those who undertake strenuous exercise such as marathon runners tended to report less annual sick days. And from the Center of Disease Control and Prevention: Take care of your body. Take deep breaths, stretch, or meditate. Try to eat healthy, well-balanced meals, exercise regularly, get plenty of sleep, and avoid alcohol and drugs.
