25.01.2022 This is really a great explanation of the MTHFR gene mutation that is prevalent nowadays. Folate is important for many cell processes and when the processed form of it called folic acid is given, it can wreak havoc on the bodies ability to absorb folate.
24.01.2022 Rosehip. One of my favourite after dinner herbal teas for a bit of sweetness. Amongst other great healing properties, rosehip is a great anti oxidant and anti inflammatory agent. Rosehip is widely available and can even be found at your local supermarket.
23.01.2022 Even if it’s not all, it most certainly is going to help

20.01.2022 Happy Mother’s Day to all the mums, in all the ways that you are
20.01.2022 I wish I could share through here, the aroma of these 2 herbs. Combination of Pennyroyal and Oregano. Thanks to the limbic system in our brain, which is responsible for smells, emotions and memory to a degree , it’s smells like these that remind me of where I started on this journey, which was to be a herbalist using nature to heal. Acupuncture is similar of course in a more energetic way. I hope everyone is staying well and if you have been given a bit more free time as I have , you are using it to slow down and build on some of that yin that we have all been depleting for years. I hope you are doing what brings you joy. It’s good for the immune system you know On a side note, we are still operating on a limited capacity to comply with AHPRA guidelines. Happy Sunday.
20.01.2022 One last dose of nature to fill my cup before the start of a new working year, in one of my most favourite ways. So grateful to live where we do. Hope you are all feeling rejuvenated. Looking forward to sharing 2020.
19.01.2022 Just coming to the end of a very relaxing time away at Fitzroy Island. Batteries are recharged and ready for the last part of the year. Here are some lovely coral tinkling sounds for you. they were certainly conducive for my daily mind rest
19.01.2022 Balance between head and heart . In Chinese medicine both the brain and heart comprise the Shen. There is no separation.
17.01.2022 Each has their place, but this is a good explanation of how Chinese Medicine works to bring back wellness.
17.01.2022 Very true indeed
15.01.2022 So many aspects to wellness.
15.01.2022 The humble goji berry. I use this herb a lot in clinic. It’s actions on the liver and kidney yin make it an important aid in balancing out our ‘on-the-go’ lifestyles.
14.01.2022 Hello everyone. I hope you are all keeping safe and well and enjoying your time with loved ones in your home. We are staying informed with what is going on very closely and matching our opening times with what we feel is appropriate. In most cases, people have shifted over to our online and phone consults where needed and there are only a limited number of appointments for hands on treatment. We feel this is the best way to monitor our own health and stay on top of thin...gs. We are able to post out or work with online suppliers to get your orders sent out to you. Where possible, pick up can also be arranged. At this time, there are many things you can be doing to get your health as tip top as possible. Things like healthy diet, exercise to get your lymph and blood moving, yoga, and of course some form of meditation is incredibly helpful to stay centred during these changing times. Here is a video of qi gong aimed at strengthening the lungs. Qi gong is wonderful for getting back in your body when the mind is overrun. Just want to let you know that I am here if you have any questions or want to chat. Stay safe https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nqn70lirWKc
14.01.2022 Happy Tuesday lovely souls <3
11.01.2022 With so many people trying to cut out carbs these days, but still struggling with not having bread, how about give this bread recipe a go. Very simple indeed and at least we have something we can toast and put some avocado on! Ingredients 5 tbsp ground psyllium husk powder 1 cups almond flour 2 tsp baking powder... 1 tsp sea salt 1 cup water 2 tsp cider vinegar 3 egg whites 2 tbsp sesame seeds (optional) Instructions Preheat the oven to 350F (175C). Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl. Bring the water to a boil. Add vinegar and egg whites to the dry ingredients, and combine well. Add boiling water, while beating with a hand mixer for about 30 seconds. Don't over mix the dough, the consistency should resemble Play-Doh. Moisten hands with a little olive oil and shape dough into 6 separate rolls. Place on a greased baking sheet. Top with optional sesame seeds. Bake on lower rack in the oven for 5060 minutes, depending on the size of your bread rolls. They're done when you hear a hollow sound when tapping the bottom of the bun. Serve with butter and toppings of your choice. with courtesy from thedietdoctor.comhttps://www.dietdoctor.com/recipes/the-keto-bread
10.01.2022 Acupuncture really is for everyone.
10.01.2022 While sugar can affect fertility in many ways, aspartame can be more destructive. Aspartame affects many body systems and should be avoided. Many things including gum are sweetened with this, as well as well known diet options. https://nexusnewsfeed.com//aspartame-is-main-destroyer-of/

08.01.2022 From a Chinese Medicine perspective, anxiety is of the heart and worry is of the spleen, While one can affect the other over time, treatment is different and the mindfulness around each is necessary to bring about change. Great post from Jost, who happened to be my first introduction to Chinese medicine while I was studying to be a naturopath, and reason I started to study it over 20 years ago. Thank you Jost.
07.01.2022 Chinese Medicine whether acupuncture or Chinese herbal medicine, recognises the five elements of fire, earth, metal, water and wood. The characteristics of thes...e elements are applied to the way the body functions. Herbs used for healing are similarly classified into the five tastes - sweet, salty, bitter, pungent and sour which correspond to the five elements. Find a registered practitioner: bit.ly/2Pifu4d
07.01.2022 The first is for us all to do, and then we can help you along with the second one.

03.01.2022 Soon to be aired commercial from my association giving information on what to look for when seeing someone who claims to do acupuncture.
02.01.2022 Fascinating weekend learning scalp acupuncture. I have wanted to relearn this after beginning this in China near 20 years ago and it’s finally happened. Scalp acupuncture can be used for many conditions, but I am most looking forward to applying it for neurological conditions. On the left is Dr Zhu , who is the founder of this style and on the right , Dr Lu, who headed the teaching. If you’re in clinic this week, no doubt I’ll be sharing about the remarkable outcomes some patients had over the weekend.
02.01.2022 An easy explanation on how acupuncture works.
02.01.2022 As we age, it is important to continue building new brain pathways to avoid age-related cognitive decline. While learning a new language or learning to play an instrument, among other things might seem like the ideal, simple things like using your non-dominant hand for activities can create new pathways.
02.01.2022 Hello everyone. I have had quite a few messages from people checking if we are open. The answer is a big YES. We are back on track offering appointments as usual. We are still keeping inline with the stricter sanitation standards to maintain safety for all of us. When you come in, try to leave a little time to walk around the point. It’s so beautiful at this time of the year.
