As previously mentioned, there are literally hundreds of options out there for loans, so by going directly to one bank, you are severely limiting your options. There are also more things to consider than what the best interest rate is. Mortgage brokers make it their job to be up to date with lenders and their products, so we are aware of changes to their policies, products and what different lenders will and will not accept. Other factors we consider when determining what product is best for you are things like if you are thinking about starting a family, flexibility is an important feature. Or if you are intending to renovate, easy access to equity can be helpful. WHEN SHOULD I TALK WITH A MORTGAGE BROKER? It doesn’t matter if you’ve just started thinking about buying, have already found the perfect house and want to quickly sort out your finance, are looking to unlock the equity in your current property, or are wanting to find out if there’s a better borrowing option than the one you currently have any time is a good time to explore your options.
