25.01.2022 Yeaterday was one of the most challanging days for me to date and at times I felt like I was going to faint, wearing a mask in hot Nth QLD weather officially sucks but after waking this morning to this gorgeous pic it's made it all worth it! After testing negative for Rona earlier this week after coming down with some kind of cold/flu, then to losing my voice, you could say this week has been a pretty shit-house week! Weddings are not something us small guys in business can ...just go "she'll be right mate, take some sick leave and worry about that job next week" nope you just have to battle through and get the job done! Thankfully I have the most amazing staff that were more than happy to stop making everyday shop blooms and step up to help me create Wedding Blooms this week! I'd be lost without them and that's TRUTH!! In the end, everything came together perfectly yesterday for Marina & Corey's special day! Thanks to the coolest dude on the block, Kurt Tella Photography for capturing this perfect snap! Congrats to the newly weds!!

For those of you who don't know me or haven't yet had the opportunity to meet with me as of yet I thought I would take a minute to share with you all a little about me and the story behind Hooked on Wedding Florals & Events! I’m Chev the woman behind designing and creating all your Wedding & Event Flowers! I have been in this industry for as long as I can remember and am a lover of flowers hence why I work within this industry focusing ...on my passion of Wedding and Event Florals! My passion and dedication to the flower industry is like no other and because of this Hooked on Wedding Florals & Events was born in 2015. Since then, I have had the pleasure of designing and creating so many beautiful and unforgettable Wedding & Event Flowers that I am now beginning to lose count! Recently, I took out 1st Place in Floral Design for North Qld at the 2018 Bride's Choice Awards and 2nd Place in Floral Design for the whole of Qld at the 2018 ABIA Bridal Awards which is an absolute honour and privileged to be recognised and crowned an award winner on both occasions! Hooked on Wedding Florals & Events was named by combining my two loves together, Fishing & Wedding Flowers. This little business is my baby, something that I nurture and take great pride in whilst offering you a service that is blooming amazing! You will receive nothing but honesty and professionalism from myself and guaranteed good ol’ fashioned service something that’s not that easy to come by these days! 12.01.2022 Hi Lovers, It's been a while, I know! So many things happening in my world right now that I have been extremely quite on the social media front! Fear not, I'm still over here hustlin' Just a heads up... I have a huge couple of weeks ahead of me with Valentines Day this week (for my other busines Flowers in the Towers). I also am moving my everyday florist shop into a new and bigger shopfront next week so I won't be responding to any enquiries or messages for the remainder... of this month, February! This means, I will be in touch with you all again from the beginning of March! Please be patient with me during this time. Just a friendly reminder also that I am basically fully booked for the remainder of 2021 and won't be opening my 2022 bookings up until July of this year once I return from Maternity Leave! 12.01.2022 If there is one thing that 2020 has taught me is that it's ok to slow down and that work and running a business is not all that life has to offer me! When COVID-19 hit I honestly shit bricks, I mean, my year was planned and mapped out with my calendar full of so many Weddings, but then overnight that all came to a screaching halt. I was forced to hang up my tools for a few months with restrictions in place and made to start enjoying a little more time to myself and have my we...ekend's back, which in return, made me come to the realisation that as much as I love creating Wedding Florals, that maybe just maybe it was time for me to take a step back a little and be ok with only taking on just a select handful of Weddings each year instead of committing to creating Wedding Blooms every weekend for 8 months of the year during Wedding Season, year in year out! But, of course I say this and then the enquiries start rolling in and I just think, ohhh, one more booking won't hurt and before I know it, I'm looking at my calendar thinking... oh well, I have booked myself to the max once again. My 2021 calendar is so far full of postponed 2020 weddings and a few new bookings and it was shaping up to be just another crazy year because I found myself booking just 'one more' wedding in... but then this happened... So... on that note, I have now officially closed my 2021 calendar to all new bookings because motherhood awaits me! For all my 2021 couples already booked in with me please don't fear, your wedding booking is secured and will not be effected in anyway, I have already booked in my closest flowering gal pals to come help this Mumma out to create your florals for when your big day rolls around! 03.01.2022 Meet Sarah (the babe on the left, the other babe on the right is just me.. the boss lady but ya'll know that already ) Sarah will be the hands on and the brains behind creating alot of your wedding blooms moving forward into 2021 and beyond, so I thought I would formally introduce her before we close for our Christmas/New Year Holidays! As most of you are aware already, I will be taking a step back from the hands on side of things next year as I begin to prepare to welcome b...aby #1 into this world in May. I will still be working behind the scenes doing the paperwork and the ordering side of things but Sarah will take over from me and take the reins to be the creator behind the majority of the Weddings we have booked for 2021! Sarah is fully qualified with years of experience up her sleeve already and truly is an amazing and talented florist who I trust completely to take over from me whilst I learn the ropes of motherhood! I would just like to take this opportunity to thankyou for your continued support and to wish you and your loved ones a very Merry and safe Christmas/New Year! I think we can all agree that 2020 has been one hell of a year to remember especially for the Wedding Industry but we made it through and I, along with you couldn't be anymore excited to hug my loved ones this Christmas and take a well deserved break! 03.01.2022 Heya lovers.... this post has been a long time coming, I'm excited and a little sad to finally announce this but here goes!!! Oh first, just quickly, I'm finally on Maternity Leave which means I will be out of office over the next little while. I won't be monitoring emails or FB messages as much and won't be answering any calls or text messages so please be patient with me during this time. Ok here goes.... 2021 will be officially my last year creating wedding florals for all... you Townsville Brides & Grooms. For the last 6 years I have spent almost every weekend during the wedding season travelling from my studio in Charters Towers to Townsville for Weddings and whilst I have been so privileged to be apart of so many Townsville Weddings (averaging around 40-50 per year) the time has come for me to hang up my tools within the wedding industry to focus my time on my new little love joining me in a few weeks time along with my everyday florist/coffee shop here in Charters Towers! The last 6 years have honestly been such a fulfilling journey, I have witnessed and been apart of so much love during this time but 2021 is the year that I've been waiting for, for as long as I can remember! A piece of me has never really felt complete and it's only in the last 7.5 months that I finally realise why now. I've focused and consumed my whole life on and around business and whilst I am so incredibly proud of myself and everything I have built and achieved to date within my business I've realised that this little human about to enter my world is more important than anything else in this world and even though I am still yet to meet my little one, I finally feel complete!! All 2021 bookings will remain as is (unless I have contacted you already in person to notify otherwise) so please don't start freaking out on me. Which leads me to now announce, my wedding book is finally closed to any/all new bookings! If I created your wedding florals, please drop me a photo below so that I can rewind to your day with you for just a moment one last time!
