24.01.2022 I am so grateful I came across them and will never forget the kindness they showed me. They believe no one should feel alone in their grief, and I didn’t feel alone when I had the support of Hope Bereavement. Geelong Cemeteries Trust talks to Jo Betz about her grief journey, what helped and her grief journal. Jo donates 5% of sales to Hope and Wombat's Wish and Jo just deposited her first amount to Hope, and we couldn't be more grateful. Its this support across the region that allow us to survive. Thanks Jo. If you want to see her journal go to www.jobetz.com.au or to directly donate to Hope www.givenow.com.au/bpbp

07.01.2022 Victorians who have experienced the loss of a baby in early pregnancy can now apply for a commemorative certificate from the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages. An early pregnancy loss is one that occurs before 20 weeks of gestation and is not formally registered as either a birth or a death. Janelle Moran, a bereaved mother and a staff member & former volunteer at Sands Australia , said the certificates would be a valuable acknowledgment to bereaved parents that their ...baby existed. "One of the most significant things that we hear at SANDS from bereaved parents is how difficult it is to have so few memories of a baby who was very real to them," she said. "That sense of acknowledgement is so important for any parent who has experienced pregnancy loss, to know that what happened to them was real and that the grief that they feel is normal." Apply online via the BDM website. - https://www.bdm.vic.gov.au//early-pregnancy-loss-commemora Also see related news article - https://www.abc.net.au//victoria-certificates-to/12886850 See more
