15.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who has reached out. If you are wanting to donate, my home is a drop of point. I'm in the process of printing off information to pass around to businesses in our Region, canvasing for donations and speaking with NGO's and DCOJ ( Formally FACs).... The goal is to establish a stockpile of all that is needed, so that then we are in a position to start passing "Hope In A Suitcase" onto a child that comes into OOHC. If you would like any more information please contact me via message or the phone number on this page. Thank you so much for your support.

10.01.2022 Does your workplace do Kris Kringle? Why not donate a gift or voucher instead and brighten Christmas for a child in need?

05.01.2022 Changing lives One suitcase at a time! With a sense of self-worth comes empowerment

05.01.2022 Hi all, I'm Kym and have been a carer for 4 years. I recently found this amazing lady Rachael, who started this Not For Profit Organisation "Hope in A Suitcase" in the Newcastle region. I was in awe and amazed at what she has done and accomplished since starting this venture and reached out to her so we could make this happen in my region of Northern Rivers.... So our first step is to make this page, to share with you all and to be able to reach many many more people through you, my amazing friends. On this page you will find already exactly what Rachael has been doing and what I, with Rachaels help wish to achieve for our little Treasures in the OOHC system. Please have a read through and watch the Video that has been posted. If you or anyone you know is willing to donate, please contact me. The Hope In A Suitcase story is below. I created ‘Hope in A suitcase’ because one thing that has stood out to me over the 19 years of seeing children come in and out of foster care, is the familiar 'plastic bags' and 'stripe bags' these kids are known to carrying their belongings around in. I decided I can’t see that happen any longer, these children deserve better. So, my aim is to move from a plastic bag of embarrassment, hurt, shame, fear, and insecurity, To a suitcase of HOPE for all children entering or living in out of home-care.

04.01.2022 'HOPE IN A SUITCASE' originally started in Newcastle NSW, but we are excited to now be establishing it here in the Norther River region. Please take the time to watch the clip below which will give you an overall feel of what it is all about. individuals or business's can help make this vision possible by either the donation of a suitcase and or items to put inside, or fund the purchase of one.... For more information please do not hesitate to send a message. https://youtu.be/cwlkFiCBgus

01.01.2022 We are still here. Am in the process of having the literature set out into fliers so they can be distributed and so we can seek business donation.
