24.01.2022 A Time for Everything Ecclesiastes There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal,... a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace. 20.01.2022 This is really good article on addiction. An addiction manifests in any behavior that a person finds temporary pleasure or relief in and therefore craves, suffers negative consequences from, and has trouble giving up. So there’s craving, relief and pleasure in the short term, and negative outcomes in the long term, along with an inability to give it up. That’s what an addiction is. Note that this definition says nothing about substances. While addiction is often to substa...nces, it could be to anythingto religion, to sex, to gambling, to shopping, to eating, to the internet, to relationships, to work, even to extreme sports. The issue with the addiction is not the external activity, but the internal relationship to it. Thus one person’s passion is another’s addiction. The question to ask any addict is From what and why do you need to distract yourself? In short, what trauma are you wanting to soothe or escape from? https://ce21.blob.core.windows.net//icfn4avtusngky4qgdmzw. See more

14.01.2022 3 phases of love. 1. Limerence - falling "in love" 2. Knowledge. 3, profound cherishing love. 3 is when you love the person in spite of their flaws and vice versa. And you hold yourself and them in high regard and you purposefully invest in the relationship and are present to each other. It is not so much about falling back in love but appreciating what you have and being grateful https://getpocket.com//relight-the-fire-how-to-fall-back-i
14.01.2022 SINGULARITY by Marie Howe (after Stephen Hawking)... Do you sometimes want to wake up to the singularity we once were? so compact nobody needed a bed, or food or money nobody hiding in the school bathroom or home alone pulling open the drawer where the pills are kept. For every atom belonging to me as good Belongs to you. Remember? There was no Nature. No them. No tests to determine if the elephant grieves her calf or if the coral reef feels pain. Trashed oceans don’t speak English or Farsi or French; would that we could wake up to what we were when we were ocean and before that to when sky was earth, and animal was energy, and rock was liquid and stars were space and space was not at all nothing before we came to believe humans were so important before this awful loneliness. Can molecules recall it? what once was? before anything happened? No I, no We, no one. No was No verb no noun only a tiny tiny dot brimming with is is is is is All everything home
12.01.2022 Interesting! - If you don't know polyvagal theory Dana is referring to our Sympathetic reaction "fight or flight" We can also "freeze" - para-sympathetic (dorsal) not the resting calm one (ventral). WE can feel small. We are also connected. So Please connect in a way that feels right for you. We are meant to connect! https://www.psychotherapynetworker.org//how-to-help-our-ne
12.01.2022 Blue sadness is sweetest cut into strips with scissors and then into little pieces by a knife, it is the sadness of reverie and nostalgia: it may be, for example, the memory of a happiness that is now only a memory, it has receded into a niche that cannot be dusted for it is beyond your reach; distinct and dusty, blue sadness lies in your inability to dust it, it is as unreachable as the sky, it is a fact reflecting the sadness of all facts. Blue sadness is that which you wis...h to forget, but cannot, as when on a bus one suddenly pictures with absolute clarity a ball of dust in a closet, such an odd, unshareable thought that one blushes, a deep rose spreading over the blue fact of sadness, creating a situation that can only be compared to a temple, which exists, but to visit it one would have to travel two thousand miles on snowshoes and by dogsled, five hundred by horseback and another five hundred by boat, with a thousand by rail https://www.brainpickings.org//30/mary-ruefle-sadness-col/ See more
10.01.2022 time spent alone is good for self-reflection. Yet, not all self-reflection during time spent alone is qualitatively the same: it can be insightful or ruminative https://aeon.co//time-alone-chosen-or-not-can-be-a-chance-
09.01.2022 The next time something lovely happens, PAUSE & look inside & let your body tell the story. Not just that is eg, a glorious sunset in your head's story but sense into your body. There will be a "Felt sense" story there as well & you can access something more. Awe. Bliss. Peace! #morethanmindfulness https://www.psychotherapynetworker.org//what-we-need-is-aw

05.01.2022 The five stages of grief are denial (shock and disbelief that the loss has occurred), anger (that someone we love is no longer here), bargaining (all the what-ifs and regrets), depression (sadness from the loss), and acceptance (acknowledging the reality of the loss). 5th stage of grief- acceptance....the reality of the loss. 6th stage, acknowledge that although for most of us grief will lessen in intensity over time, it will never end. Allow ourselves to move into 6th stage...meaningtransform grief into something more rich & fulfilling. "Love and grief come as a package deal. If you love, you will one day know sorrow. Through meaning, we can find more than pain." https://www.psychotherapynetworker.org//9e1febe4-4792-4641
