The HALT guest artist series is a new project, initiated by Jem, our HALT worker, where we collaborate with artists who interpret and reflect HALT's message! First up is a collaboration between Ray Ahn, bass player for legendary Sydney punk band 'The Hard Ons' who originally drew the design and colourist, Simon Robins.... This is an extremely limited run of T-Shirts and Hoodies with the T-Shirts selling for $35 and the Hoodies for $60. As band T-shirts they will be available in black...and black... Now is your time to support HALT and our new range of Merch! We are taking orders for the next seven days only so get in fast and leave your order! Black - Small, Medium, Large, Xlarge, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL Cheers

20.01.2022 HALT has been going fo almost 7 years and one of the biggest risk factors that can create anxiety, stress and depression is finance. Tradies who run a business, this could be just what you need and It's free! Thanks to the Mornington Shire for setting up this event 'Getting paid in Building and construction'... 19.01.2022 We’ve all been struggling during this COVID-19 Pandemic and doing it tough across all parts of the community! This has affected us all in different ways, increased anxiety, stress, pressure and social isolation, I know we are doing the best we can and looking out for each other, we will get through this together! During this pandemic we have seen statistics in posts and articles around suicide stating that rates have increased, mostly these statistics have no genuine and le...gitimate source to such claims, causing further anxiety and stress. Please read the letter below from the Coroners Court of Victoria about the rates of suicide. We are getting better at opening up the conversation around mental health and suicide, talking with our mates, throwing off the stigma and shame attached around mental health, reaching out to services and accessing the help when we need. Please call your doctor, lifeline, headspace, counsellor, psychologist, partner or mate. With a whole of community approach to suicide prevention we can reduce rates of suicide in our communities. You are not alone...take care...and reach out... The HALT team

16.01.2022 Fantastic to have the HALT workers back out in the community! Well done Tom and Mick! Mick was out at Bluescope Steel in Hastings today and Tom was at Akzo Nobel in Sunshine! 16.01.2022 Helping each other get through the tough times is part of what being a mate is. We’re here for you tradies. So get in touch today if you and your team could do with a pep talk to get you through these current challenges. While we can’t be with you in real life in all locations across Victoria we CAN offer online talks to you and your mates. And from the feedback we are getting we know that these talks can be just as effective and interactive as our in person talks. Topics co...vered include (but not limited to): -mental health and self care -recognising the signs you or someone else might be struggling with their mental health -practical tools on how to have a tough conversation with a mate about mental health -support services you can access and how to access them. Give Jeremy a buzz on: 0409756274 or email: [email protected] to find out more!

03.01.2022 This is a Public Service Announcement! Tis the season for skin checks! Today I rocked some minor surgery in my fav beanie and flannel...... I had a BCC, Basal Cell Cancer, cut out today at the Skin Health Institute in Carlton. I’m fine, recovering well but I’m putting the call out to tradies out there to get to the doctor or local clinic and have your skin checked! I was talking to one of the nurses today about HALT and she said her father, a bricklayer, passed away from a melanoma and her brothers are bricklayers, working out on the sun and she worries about them. So, tradies, go and get those spots checked, and check in with the doctor about any other physical or mental health issues that are going on in your life! And a huge thanks to Dr Bonnie Swan and the team from the Skin Health Institute, they were supportive, caring and wonderful! Thanks for looking after me today!
