18.01.2022 LOVE THIS AND SO TRUE! Throughout much of church history people have been stripped of their God-given gifts, talents and desires, under the guise of devotion to Christ. This stripped-down version of Christianity removes the believer from ministry, and relegates that privilege to a certain class of Christian called "ministers". The regular believers role is reduced to financial and emotional support of those in public ministry. To work without fulfilled dreams and desires is ...to partner with the religious spirit that exalts routine without purpose, and calls it suffering. The honor of giving to promote ministry must not be devalued, but its emphasis should never be at the expense of each individual carrying their own creative expression of the Gospel through realizing their God-given dreams and desires. From "Dreaming With God" by Bill Johnson #hopehands

14.01.2022 GIVING BY JOHN HUNT These days it’s so easy to organise your giving. Internet banking makes last minute trips to the ATM or remembering my credit card giving redundant. I just set things up on a monthly auto deduction and forget about it. Simple. Yes, it may be simple but maybe not as beneficial as it could be.... I have been challenged by the process behind the way giving was required for the nation of Israel. It wasn’t just the gift that was required but a statement that went along with it. God was drilling something deep in the soul of His people with every gift they gave. I think my soul could do with that same medicine. Then you shall declare before the LORD your God: My father was a wandering Aramean, and he went down into Egypt with a few people and lived there and became a great nation, powerful and numerous. But the Egyptians mistreated us and made us suffer, subjecting us to harsh labor. Then we cried out to the LORD, the God of our ancestors, and the LORD heard our voice and saw our misery, toil and oppression. So the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, with great terror and with signs and wonders. He brought us to this place and gave us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey; and now I bring the firstfruits of the soil that you, LORD, have given me. Place the basket before the LORD your God and bow down before him. (Deuteronomy 26:5-10 NIV) God made them see the link between their gift and their salvation not just once but each time they gave. In a world where the attitude of entitlement is increasing, a poignant reminder that my giving isn’t something I do in the hope to get more blessed - rather it is something I get to do because I have been so blessed.

13.01.2022 This is the CCTV of the bag snatching attempt on my handbag when I first arrived back here in the Philippines. It is freaky to see how long they hovered around behind us before and after the attempt. Be careful and aware of your surroundings when travelling, I made the mistake of thinking I was safe and secure in the place I was, because I have been there many many times. #hopehands

13.01.2022 A bit of a tradition...

07.01.2022 Good morning everyone...for those that are concerned the earthquake is on a different Island to us...we are ok

07.01.2022 I wanted to share with you all what happened to me here in Bacolod yesterday morning. We are both ok....we were a little shaken but very thankful to our God for his protection! Yesterday morning we were sitting and waiting for our breakfast here in Bacolod. I had my handbag on the floor beside me. We were deep in conversation and then Carolyn shouted to me "she has got your handbag" and then shouted out loud "thief thief". The women then tried to give me her handbag making ou...t that the bags accidentally got swapped. I shouted at her that she had my bag and she quickly swapped them over again and took off. I was concerned that she had taken something from my bag (my passport was in my bag) so I yelled at her to stop and ran after her and asked to look in her bag...the only thing in her bag was a scarf, which I thought was strange for a women's handbag (lol). I then went to the management of the place we we eating in and they looked at the CCTV footage which disturbed both of us greatly. There was actually a group of about three of them working together. One guy blocked one of the cameras, another man walked past a kicked my handbag from beside me to behind me and then the women came in closely behind and they hovered behind us for maybe 20 seconds or less and then she bends down and tries to stuff my handbag in hers. I think this is the only time in my life that I am grateful for being that women who carries everything except the kitchen sink in my handbag because this did make it difficult for her. It was about this time that Carolyn seen her with my handbag and the rest unfolded. This is a well organized gang who were calm and collected and came in with the intent to do this to someone. Thank goodness for the CCTV and the management have now taken it to the authorities. We were both shaken but realized we had both been protected as the locals say many of these people carry weapons in case they are caught. We are praising God for our invisible Security Guard that is on duty 24/7 and that the plans of the enemy were foiled. Also this is a reminder for all who come to me here on short term trips not to be complacent but to be careful and alert of your surroundings. Thank you to the many who pray for this ministry as we have some strong evidence right here for that covering of prayer. Please read and share to make people aware!

02.01.2022 DETOURS BY ALUN DAVIES Then it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God did not lead them by way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near. (Exodus 13:17)... The dictionary defines ‘detour’ as a different or less direct route to a place that is used to avoid a problem or to visit somewhere or do something on the way. Detours can be frustrating. They can be confusing. They are always inconvenient. Israel were taken on a detour on their way to the land of promise. When the Lord led Israel out of Egypt, He did not lead them in a direct path to the promised land. Instead He led them on a longer and more difficult path. God does not always take the shortest route or the quickest. I have often wondered why it takes so long sometimes to realise something God has clearly promised. God’s leading of Israel gives us an insight into the purpose and plan of God and His dealings with us. The path the Lord leads us on is a path of growth that brings us closer to the place of promise. There is a purpose and a benefit in every aspect of God’s leading. In the wilderness God forged Israel into a nation and created a people who knew how to fight and gain victory. He organised them, and gave them principles that would lead to their success. The journey made it possible for Israel to succeed and obtain the promise of God. Our journey is not wasted time. It is not a futile season but is intended to be a fruitful experience making us better and stronger. Those often frustrating detours equip us for future success.
