13.01.2022 We at Hope Horizons are watching the events and recommendations in relation to COVID 19. At this stage our services continue as normal but we'll keep everyone up to date if things change. Please heed the advice of Queensland Health in the meantime by reading and following posters like I've attached here. For our current clients, please inform our volunteers by phone if you display symptoms of coronavirus, have travelled in the last 14 days or been in contact with someone with the virus. Our clientele can be immuno-compromised and we do not want to put them at risk. Please make contact with your oncologist, oncology nurses or GP if you are unsure of what you need to do. I pray that we all stay safe and well during this pandemic and we are here to support and help where we can.

10.01.2022 Hope Horizons is looking for someone that can do some washing for the Centre on Drayton Road. As our services have increased so has the washing basket! In an average week there would be 12-15 domestic loads of washing to be done - mainly linen including towels. We dont need a commercial operator however an individual would require an ABN. Payment can be negotiated. 09.01.2022 Hope Horizons is excited to now offer counselling services via telehealth to valued clients and their families, who live in remote areas or are unable to come into the facility for face to face counselling. Telehealth services are provided by experienced psychologist Susan Long, who will assist you to feel comfortable receiving counselling in this way (either by telephone, secure video link, zoom or facetime). Susan will help you to feel at ease, enabling you to obtain the ...support and strategies that up until now have only been offered by our face to face service. The benefits of using telehealth include being able to receive support no matter where you are or if you prefer for any reason or are limited to, receiving the service in the comfort of your own home. All sessions are provided free of charge to you provided you have a referral and mental health care plan through your local GP. 04.01.2022 ! COVID-19 Update - Our initial decision was to close the centre until Monday 6th April. As the situation has escalated since that time we have had to review this decision. In response to recent government directives, the Hope Horizons management committee have sadly decided to keep our doors closed at Drayton Rd. This is for an indefinite period and we will be keeping a close eye on what our government recommends for a reopening. Thanks to the immense fundraising and hard w...ork of our volunteers we are in a sound financial position and we will be reopening as soon as this is allowed. In the meantime, the management committee are meeting regularly to work on new ways we can improve our services when we do reopen. We will endeavour to keep you all informed. 02.01.2022 What an amazing community we have - thank you to Toowoomba Turf Club Clifford Park Racecourse for choosing Hope Horizons as the 2020 Weetwood Charity Pin & Win partner. Together, we raised $940 to assist in our endeavours to enhance the quality of life of the people of Toowoomba and the Downs region throughout and after their cancer diagnosis, encouraging empowerment through education and awareness. Congrats to the winners - 1st prize: Brian Burke, 2nd prize: John Van Den B...rink. Enjoy your fabulous prizes! Our success is driven by our fantastic volunteers who make these achievements happen, and we owe a big thank-you to: Anna, Kay, Jo, Gay - and a very special mention to Ros, who was our pin-selling superstar at three events! All locally made crafts by lovely friends of Hope Horizons. Then pop by Bunnings (Northside) and say G’Day to the team while you get your sausage on bread! C’mon people!! Who doesn’t go to Bunnings on a Sunday?? So make sure you say hello while you are out and about today on this beautiful morning

01.01.2022 EVENT CANCELLED DUE TO RAIN. The stall will be at PCYC next Sunday now 1st November. MARKET GOERS!!! One of our amazing supporters, Lucy and her committee have booked a spot at the PCYC markets on James Street on Sunday October 25th to clear as much of the craft as they can and they expect that it might take several Sundays to do that. This is in lieu of the afternoon tea they were hoping to hold this year but due to COVID 19 they decided to postpone to 2021. Any support you can give would be greatly appreciated and you might find some nice Xmas gifts. So keep an eye out for the Hope Horizons marquee (pictured) at the PCYC Markets this weekend and please show your support.
