25.01.2022 This is Charlie Chaplin at age 26, photographed 100 years ago. It’s believed he wrote the poem below at age 70. As I began to love myself I found that anguish... and emotional suffering are only warning signs that I was living against my own truth. Today, I know, this is Authenticity. As I began to love myself I understood how much it can offend somebody if I try to force my desires on this person, even though I knew the time was not right and the person was not ready for it, and even though this person was me. Today I call this Respect. As I began to love myself I stopped craving for a different life, and I could see that everything that surrounded me was inviting me to grow. Today I call this Maturity. As I began to love myself I understood that at any circumstance, I am in the right place at the right time, and everything happens at the exactly right moment. So I could be calm. Today I call this Self-Confidence. As I began to love myself I quit stealing my own time, and I stopped designing huge projects for the future. Today, I only do what brings me joy and happiness, things I love to do and that make my heart cheer, and I do them in my own way and in my own rhythm. Today I call this Simplicity. As I began to love myself I freed myself of anything that is no good for my health food, people, things, situations, and everything that drew me down and away from myself. At first I called this attitude a healthy egoism. Today I know it is Love of Oneself. As I began to love myself I quit trying to always be right, and ever since I was wrong less of the time. Today I discovered that is Modesty. As I began to love myself I refused to go on living in the past and worrying about the future. Now, I only live for the moment, where everything is happening. Today I live each day, day by day, and I call it Fulfillment. As I began to love myself I recognized that my mind can disturb me and it can make me sick. But as I connected it to my heart, my mind became a valuable ally. Today I call this connection Wisdom of the Heart. We no longer need to fear arguments, confrontations or any kind of problems with ourselves or others. Even stars collide, and out of their crashing, new worlds are born. Today I know: This is Life! ~Charlie Chaplin
22.01.2022 Falling Leaves Never have I ever, Lived during a pandemic Been ruled by a pathological narcissist Witnessed Mother Nature ... Express her reds and yellows and orange Like the fall of 2020 My soul has been awakened By this dream A total color orgasm Bewitching and keen This has come as a reminder To see beauty In this cruel reality To remember Life will cycle Once again To a place of peace and calm So I thank you Mother Nature For all you have bestowed On land, on mountain on highway And everywhere in between We truly have been blessed During a time of great need So I thank you Mother Nature As you have let your colors bleed. 22.01.2022 I absolutely love this, from a school principal. Thanks for the share Simone. Brilliant words from a School Principal. COVID-19 Kids what if? ... When people say kids are going to be ‘behind’ I say, behind what?? Not each other- they’re all in the same boat. Only ‘behind’ the age expectations of a curriculum that currently has limited context due to these extraordinary circumstances. In front on so many other more important fronts I say. What if instead of behind this group of kids is advanced because of this. What if they have more empathy, they enjoy family connection, they can be more creative and entertain themselves, they love to read, they love to express themselves in writing. What if they enjoy the simple things, like their own backyard and sitting near a window in the quiet? What if they notice the birds and the dates the different flowers emerge, and the calming renewal of a gentle rain shower? What if this generation is the one to learn to cook, organize their space, do their laundry, and keep a well-run home? What if they learn to stretch a dollar and to live with less? What if they learn to plan shopping trips and meals at home? What if they learn the value of eating together as a family and finding the good to share in the small delights of the everyday? What if they are the ones to place great value on our teachers and educational professionals, librarians, public servants and the previously invisible essential support workers like truck drivers, grocers, cashiers, custodians, logistics, and health care workers and their supporting staff, just to name a few of the millions taking care of us right now while we are sheltered in place? What if among these children, a great leader emerges who had the benefit of a slower pace and a simpler life, who has a fine sense of empathy and care and concern for fellow humans. What if he or she truly learns what really matters in all this
21.01.2022 I wanted to help, I don't have much, but what I do have I am most willing to share. I have a coffee machine and a kitchen window that faces the street, so I gi...ve away free coffee and other treats to my neighbours and passers by. I am randomly good at growing things, I have an abundant garden. Even though it is entirely concrete, Last year I was gifted this great stacking garden frame so I water proofed it, lined it with plastic and put it out on the sidewalk and planted herbs in it for people to take. I relentlessly searched for and eventually got this great cupboard, stripped out the mirrors and glass, painted it bright red and filled it with food staples for people to take as they need and put it out the front of my house. I lost my work, this gave me time, I used that time to share what I have. If I can do this just on jobkeeper payments imagine what the mega wealthy could be capable of, if they wanted to. Imagine if you will thousands of these, tens of thousands... one on every street.
20.01.2022 This poem is stunning. Just wanted to share it. It is used in the Reform Jewish liturgy, as an optional reading, before Kaddish Every once in a while, a poem o...r song is so well constructed, so clearly conveys the authors meaning and is so precisely expressive that it becomes something of an anthem. The poem below, Epitaph, was written by Merrit Malloy and as one of those poems, has become a staple of funeral and memorial servicesfor good reason. Epitaph - By Merrit Malloy When I die Give what’s left of me away To children And old men that wait to die. And if you need to cry, Cry for your brother Walking the street beside you. And when you need me, Put your arms Around anyone And give them What you need to give to me. I want to leave you something, Something better Than words Or sounds. Look for me In the people I’ve known Or loved, And if you cannot give me away, At least let me live on in your eyes And not your mind. You can love me most By letting Hands touch hands, By letting bodies touch bodies, And by letting go Of children That need to be free. Love doesn’t die, People do. So, when all that’s left of me Is love, Give me away.

12.01.2022 Words from a body who has lived them - which is why Serge Benhayon is the most successful man on earth. Yep said it - ignore, enquire, confirm or attack, it doesn't change the truth.
10.01.2022 So very grateful to our 14 year old daughter who has created daily chalk art for the last 95 days to entertain her little brother, who’s in each drawing. He’s t...ravelled the world all from our driveway. This art gives us something good to look forward to every day. You can see all her art on Instagram @macairesmuse See more
08.01.2022 I am no longer waiting for a special occasion; I burn the best candles on ordinary days. I am no longer waiting for the house to be clean; I fill it with people... who understand that even dust is Sacred. I am no longer waiting for everyone to understand me; It’s just not their task I am no longer waiting for the perfect children; my children have their own names that burn as brightly as any star. I am no longer waiting for the other shoe to drop; It already did, and I survived. I am no longer waiting for the time to be right; the time is always now. I am no longer waiting for the mate who will complete me; I am grateful to be so warmly, tenderly held. I am no longer waiting for a quiet moment; my heart can be stilled whenever it is called. I am no longer waiting for the world to be at peace; I unclench my grasp and breathe peace in and out. I am no longer waiting to do something great; being awake to carry my grain of sand is enough. I am no longer waiting to be recognized; I know that I dance in a holy circle. I am no longer waiting for Forgiveness. I believe, I Believe. Mary Anne Perrone by Philippe Vogelenzang Photography
07.01.2022 Once upon a time, when women were birds, there was the simple understanding that to sing at dawn and to sing at dusk was to heal the world through joy. The... birds still remember what we have forgotten, that the world is meant to be celebrated. ~Terry Tempest Williams Photograph: Viola Loretti See more

05.01.2022 The full text of the quote, which is too long to fit on our sign reads: Opinion is really the lowest form of human knowledge. It requires no accountability, no... understanding. The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another’s world. It requires profound purpose larger than the self kind of understanding. -Bill Bullard See more
04.01.2022 National Reconciliation Week in Australia. Power to the people.
01.01.2022 THIS IS SO IMPORTANT. Richard and I have been sleeping alone this week because I have been unwell and he can't afford being exposed to germs (whatever they might be). My mum is alone and mostly self isolating, as are so many in her age group. She and they have been on my mind. I woke up this morning feeling so much like I needed to hug people and wanting to pour all my love and urgent feeling of impending despair about what Rich and his colleagues will soon be facing ... in...to... I'm not sure, somehow holding and protecting him. Then I remembered Dr Robin Youngson who I interviewed for my book (Beyond the Stethoscope) former anaesthetist and healthcare system change Pioneer (Hearts in Healthcare), now practicing and teaching this powerful self soothing technique which he believes to be more powerful and transformative than all the advocacy and activism he has done for decades. Before I had a chance to act on these thoughts this morning, a post popped up from Robin on our Compassion Revolution fb page (An extraordinary offering by Mary Freer). This practice is SO important for our times, please incorporate this into your day and share, share share. Deep thanks to you Robin. Hugs to you all xx See more
