22.01.2022 MERCY AND GRACE S - Scripture Psalm 9:10 (TPT) May everyone who knows your mercy keep putting their trust in you, for they can count on you for help no matter what. O Lord, you will never, no never, neglect those who come to you.... O Observation I find it so refreshing that I can rely on God’s mercy and his grace. Unlike most of you I’m sure I stumble. Yes, I really do, and I beat myself up constantly when I do. There are so many scripture references to Gods Grace and Mercy. I am thankful that he is God and I am not because his compassion towards us is in itself a miracle in my view. A Application I found myself out walking in the early hours this morning, with earphones on, listening to Gods Word through the bible app on my phone, letting his word wash over me. I can recommend it to you. Psalm 86:15 says But you, O Lord, are a God of compassion and mercy, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness. Where are you right now, are you beating yourself up. Come to the throne of grace where he will meet you. Your heavenly father loves his kids. He sent Jesus for you. P Prayer Dear Lord Jesus I pray for all those needing your mercy and grace, that they knock on your door and receive peace in their circumstances and a revelation that you are there for them. 21.01.2022 LOVE AND KINDNESS S - Scripture 1 Corinthians 16:13 &14 The Passion Translation Remember to stay alert and hold firmly to all that you believe. Be mighty and full of courage. Let love and kindness be the motivation behind all that you do.... O Observation Sometimes I wish it were easier being a Christian. I wish that all my family and friends both understood and agreed with my beliefs, I wish that society as a whole would be in love with Jesus, that they would understand who He is and what He stands for. Why? Because Jesus is amazing! He is life changing! Because nothing is ever the same once you know Him. While many of my family and friends know Jesus and are amazing role models and a source of inspiration to me, there are some who don’t know him (yet!!). There are some who even attack Jesus and Christianity particularly on social media, and I feel it deeply. Somehow an attack on Jesus feels like an attack on me, and it is easy to get my back up and want to have a ‘strong word’ back. Thank God for the Word and the guidance it gives me. Paul tells us to hold firmly to what we believe, to be mighty and courageous, no matter what others think or say. He follows that up with something amazing, let love and kindness be the motivation behind everything we do! So even if we feel under attack for what we believe, our response is to be love and kindness. A Application In this day and age trolling on social media (attacking others in order to inflame a situation or cause discord) is extreme! So what do we do when we are criticized for our thoughts or beliefs, our love for Jesus? Paul tells us the exact answer, stand firm, hold onto all that we believe, and to respond with love and kindness. Attacking back never shows the love of Jesus. In love and kindness we can talk to others of our beliefs and in love and kindness we can respond to insults that come our way. P Prayer Father God, I love you, I desire you more and more. Help me to be strong when I feel criticized for my beliefs. Let me show others around me your love and your kindness, guide my words, action and even my thoughts. Fill me with your Holy Spirit, give me great courage. In the name of Jesus Christ MY Lord. Amen Journal Entry: Jenni James

19.01.2022 READY OR NOT HERE I COME! S Luke Revelation 16:15 (NLT) Take Note: I will come as unexpectedly as a thief! Blessed are all those who are watching (stays awake) for me, who keep their robes ready so they will not need to walk naked and ashamed.’ - Jesus ... O Observation Jesus’s last words to us in the book of Revelation I am coming soon! He is coming, and the warning from Jesus is for us not to be caught unawares or indifferent and not be ready. To be awake and watching, expecting His coming. A Application I have to live with the thought that He could come at any time. But at the same time living as though it could be today. Watching and staying awake is not just sitting and doing nothing. It is actively doing as he told us, go, give, make disciples, serve, love, be about the Father business. If I am doing that, then I won’t be caught unawares at His coming P Prayer You are coming, you said you were.. You are coming for those whose names are in the Lamb’s Book of Life. In the time in which we are living, when there is an antichrist spirit arising, help us to be the light and salt you commanded us to be, making a difference, bringing people into relationship with you, that they too would also have their names in the book Journal Entry: Warren Mortomore

18.01.2022 NOT WHAT YOU KNOW BUT WHO YOU KNOW S - Scripture Matthew 24:42 NJKV ‘Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming’... O Observation Jesus warned us not to be caught up in speculation about when he would come back, but to know that He said, He is coming back. He is coming back for those who know Him, have a personal relationship with Him, are following Him and obeying Him, living for Him. A Application Knowing Jesus, and knowing He is coming back for His church what are we to do? How are we to be living? 1. Waiting and watching 2. Being about His business 3. Making sure we are ready 4. Sharing with others about who Jesus is 5. Living a life where we are loving God and loving others Not about how much head knowledge we have, how much we can argue scripture, but about knowing Him and making Him known. P Prayer We want to know you more and more each day, and be making you known in our world, so that when you come, we will not be caught by surprise, we will be ready. Journal Entry: Warren Mortomore

15.01.2022 MY FATHER, MY HERO, MY RESCUER S - Scripture Psalm 118:5-8 (TPT) 5 Out of my deep anguish and pain I prayed, and God, you helped me as a father.... You came to my rescue and broke open the way into a beautiful and broad place. 6 Now I know, Lord, that you are for me, and I will never fear what man can do to me. 7 For you stand beside me as my hero who rescues me. I’ve seen with my own eyes the defeat of my enemies. I’ve triumphed over them all! 8 Lord, it is so much better to trust in you to save me than to put my confidence in someone else. O Observation When I have been in that place of anguish and pain, I have felt like my whole world is pressing in all around me. Hemmed in on all sides. The picture I got with this scripture was that my heavenly father came to me put his reassuring arms around me and took me from that place to a beautiful picturesque valley with wide open spaces and took all that junk on himself, clearing my mind. My hero father who rescues me! A Application Psalm 23:2-3 (TPT) He offers a resting place for me in his luxurious love.[c] His tracks take me to an oasis of peace, the quiet brook of bliss.[d] 3 That’s where he restores and revives my life.[e] He opens before me pathways to God’s pleasure and leads me along in his footsteps of righteousness[f] Perhaps when we get to that hemmed in place we need to stop and invite our heavenly father to come in and spend some time with us and allow ourselves to go with him to that resting place to experience the oasis of peace and the quiet brook of bliss so that he can restore and revive us. The decision can actually be its own battle - ask for help. P Prayer Dear Lord Jesus help me now reach out to you for that reassuring arm around my shoulder and for you to take me to that beautiful broad place for restoration and peace in the midst of where I am. 12.01.2022 TALKING GOD UP OUR ACTIONS BACKING IT UP S - Scripture 1 Peter 2:9-10, 12 NIV 9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. 11 Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful ...desires, which wage war against your soul. 12 Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us. O Observation A couple of things I picked up from this reading. The first was this: We love to quote the first part of v9 when describing who we are as believers a chosen people a royal priesthood a holy nation God’s special possession. And we are all these things. Yet the end goal isn’t that it is what Peter says next that we may declare God’s praises for bringing us out of darkness and into His light. In other words we are meant to talk God up to bring him praise for who He is and all He has done. The second part is found in verse 12. Live in such a way that our actions, our good deeds bring glory to God. People will see it and God will be glorified. A Application We see in these two verses a call to: Declare God’s praise. Bring God praise by our actions. It’s praise that is more than just coming from our mouths, it involves our hands our feet our time our energy (our actions) etc . As followers of Christ we are meant to be talking God up telling people of the great things He has done both universally and personally in our lives. We are also meant to be demonstrating what we profess by our good deeds. Both bring God glory and praise to the one we love and serve. P Prayer Lord thank you for these beautiful verses. Would you help me to live them out in my life. May I be ready to speak and declare your praises to the people in my world and then help me to demonstrate it in practical ways that will also bring glory to you. I ask this in Jesus name. 10.01.2022 THE TRIUMPH OF FAITH S - Scripture 1 Psalms 112:1 The Passion Translation Shout in celebration of Praise to the Lord! Everyone who loves the Lord and delights in Him will cherish His words and be blessed beyond expectation. Their descendants will be prosperous and influential, every generation of His godly lovers will experience His favour. Great blessing and wealth fill the house of the wise, for their integrity endures forever. Life is good for the one who is generous and charitable, conducting affairs with honesty and truth. Their circumstances will never shake them and others will never forget their example. They will not live in fear or dread of what may come, for their hearts are firm, ever secure in their FAITH. O Observation Exuberant Praise is the response of our love for the Lord, our descendants and every generation of "His Godly lovers" will know His favour with great blessing. Even if darkness appears sunrise brilliance will burst through bringing loving generosity to those around us. We will not live in fear of the things around us, or the unknown future, because our hearts are ever secure in our Faithful Heavenly Father.
