12.01.2022 Today begins #16Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence. UCA President Dr Deidre Palmer offers this message. We invite you to join us each day in prayer ...for a world where all women and girls are free from violence. Dr Palmer offers this prayer for Day 1. Gracious and compassionate God, Be with all those who are living in situations of violence and abuse. Be with those whose homes are not safe places, who live in fear and pain. May they find spaces of shelter and support, that offer healing, safety, and strength. We give you thanks for all those agencies, workers, congregations, friends and family, who walk alongside women and children who experience violence. Sustain them in your hope and guide them with your wisdom. Give us strength and courage as your Church to create relationships and communities of mutuality, respect and equality, where children and women can flourish, and all of us can grow into our fullest humanity. In the name of Christ, our Liberator Amen.
