24.01.2022 JUNIOR CRICKET WRAP 20/12/20 With all other grades on Christmas break it was just our Under 16’s competing yesterday in the junior ranks. They finished this year off on a high, getting over the top of Athelstone in a low scoring affair to sit one win from third place amongst a cluster of teams in the same position.... Score and top performers below Hope Valley 116 from 27.0 overs (Joshua Incoll 20, Matthew Greet 19) defeated Athelstone 108 from 33.5 overs (Christian Wishart 3/14, Vinuk Palihakkara 3/22)

23.01.2022 An update on the return to play schedule from ATCA

20.01.2022 Given our Major Sponsor Rock Solid 24/7 Gym can’t utilize their car park for classes, we’ve given them access to Hope Valley Oval while the current COVID rules are in place. Go to their app or contact one of their PT’s directly for information on classes

19.01.2022 SENIOR CRICKET WRAP 19-20/12/20 On a beautiful weekend for cricket we bring home 2 wins.... Unfortunately the A Grade couldn’t quite get over the line to the top team in Goodwood after keeping them to around a par score with the ball. Sitting fifth, there is still a lot to play for in the second half of the season. The B Grade made it two in a row, chasing down a good total set by cellar dwellers Pooraka, largely thanks to captain Ben Jolly’s innings 62 not out. They now sit fourth heading into the Christmas break and will have their eyes set on improving that position further upon the return next year. In yesterday’s match our Under 18’s conjured an inspired bowling innings to knock off Woodville Rechabite. We batted first and were cruising at 2/92 before falling away to 8/119 after 40 overs. In reply, Woodville were 2/42 off 9 overs and then our boys dragged it back taking the next 8 wickets for just 49 runs. Huge credit goes to Matthew Lumley taking a triple wicket maiden to finish with 4/7 from 3 overs and Cooper Whitbread taking three excellent catches. Top performers below A2 Grade: Batting - Heath Weber 31, Grant Bowen 21* Bowling - Ben Hutchinson 2/21, Ryan Clapp 2/36 B3 Grade (tbc): Batting - Ben Jolly 62*, Harry Singh 29 Bowling - Josh Grandison 4/40, Ben Jolly 2/ U18 Grade: Batting - Mitchell Llewellyn 39, Nathan Weinhengst 24 Bowling - Matthew Lumley 4/7, Shaun Palihakkara 2/6

11.01.2022 Our T20 side have won by 6 wickets with 2.1 overs to spare Aidan Wilkins has the ball on a string this weekend cleaning up Walkerville’s top five on his own to return figures of 5/5 from his 4 overs, his second 5for this weekend! After seeing ourselves at 3/15 early in reply, Jarrad Sykes (35*) and Brett Madigan (28) steadied the ship and put on a 54 run partnership before captain Daniel Giles joined Jarrad at the crease to see us home.... Our next opponent and date is still yet to be determined. Thanks again to our T20 Sponsors & Partners: Norwood Hotel- Giles Garden Maintenance ISC Sport #govalleys

10.01.2022 Our T20 side come up against Walkerville CC on Sunday and the team has been SELECTED! - After a strong finish to the 2019/20 ATCA T20 Competition we have qualified for the 2020/21 SAMCA Metropolitan Cup.... It has been 7 seasons since we last competed in this competition so we will be hoping to reignite the form that saw us win the whole thing in 2014. 08.01.2022 SENIOR CRICKET WRAP 14/11/20 Hope Valley brings back 2 of 3 wins on a perfect day for cricket.... The A Grade proved way too good for Old Ignatians as they won by 68 runs and then went back in for another hit. As Gilesy quoted last night Dos doing Dos things bagging another career 5fer and Brett Madigan ripping through for his name in the paper as well. The B Grade had a few starts but couldn’t properly convert and unfortunately went down against Ingle Farm by 27 runs. Good solid victory by our C Grade as they got some much needed points on the board, beating Payneham by 7 wickets with 6 overs to spare. Congratulations to Grant Bowen for his crucial 76 opening the batting. Good luck to our T20 side as they commence their SAMCA Metro Cup campaign today against Walkerville at home and to our Under 18’s who will be aiming for an outright victory against Salisbury West at St. Paul’s. We encourage all Hope Valley people to come out and support our guys today, bar will be open at the club from 1:30pm. Yesterday’s scores and top performers below A2 Grade Batting - Daniel Giles 46*, Ryan Clapp 24 Bowling - Aidan Wilkins 5/28, Brett Madigan 3/8 B3 Grade Batting - Ben Jolly 46, Luke Malcolm 34 Bowling - Sam Hutchinson 4/37, Brendan Sims 2/35 LO4 Grade Batting - Grant Bowen 76, Michael Barton 26 Bowling - Manraj Mavi 2/30, Kieran Chinnery 2/34

07.01.2022 It’s official, we will take a 14 day break and (hopefully) get back up and running in a fortnight’s time. Stay safe and healthy everyone, keep washing your hands and we’ll see you in December

07.01.2022 JUNIOR CRICKET WRAP 15/11/20 Our Junior sides brought home a few important wins yesterday with some games unfortunately abandoned due to weather concerns. Our Under 14 Demons showed some true determination to now sit equal second on the ladder while our Under 10 Saints proved too strong for Modbury winning by 51 runs in a good team effort.... Scores and top performers below U10 Demons - 13/137 (M. Standing 16, P. Fadia 15, R. Khatri 15) defeated by Glenunga 15/145 (Fadia 4/11, Khatri 2/17) Devils - 5/64 (S. Dhaliwal 12*, A. Singh 24) defeated by Modbury 9/173 (T. Dunn 2/19, A. Murray 1/10)

06.01.2022 Not exactly what our Under 18’s had planned for yesterday, losing some quick wickets early and then fielding for the rest of the day. However with 1st innings points already in the bag we still advance up the ladder after Round 3 and take back some vital lessons to the training track. Top performers were: Batting - Mitch Jones 34, Matthew Lumley Bowling - Mitch Jones 3/5, Mitchell Llewellyn 3/8 (1st Innings) & Lachlan Minogue 3/32, Jayden Fiedler 2/6 (2nd innings)... Our boys come up against Flinders Park away in Round 4 which primes as a vital mid-table clash for ascendency.

01.01.2022 T10 CHAMPIONSHIP For the last few years we have created and competed in an internal ‘T10’ league consisting of three teams of mixed senior cricketers, with the addition of several juniors. We play off in several Tuesday night games spread throughout the cricket season to double as both centre wicket practice and friendly competition, and don’t doubt the word ‘competition’! We feel it is something that makes Hope Valley Cricket Club truly unique in comparison to other cl...ubs around the association and everyone involved always enjoys themselves. Tomorrow night is round one and the ‘Wolverines’ are playing the ‘Chumps’ in a serious game between the two favourite teams, who will come out on top? Come and watch the game with your family and friends as well as having a drink or two to celebrate. Game starts at 6pm and we will have the bar open and the bbq fired up, the more people that come out the better it will be, so make sure you get out and enjoy the night!

01.01.2022 Looks like we may be pressing pause on Season 2020/21 More details to come...
