25.01.2022 Another wonderful time spent with our Singapore friends. We love your heart for sharing encouraging and inspiring our team Angeline Ariel and Natasha Crescentia

23.01.2022 Loved being able to connect with our Hope School staff today. We are blessed with wonderful people committed to the task of making Hope School a great blessing in the community.

22.01.2022 These lovely girls were our first set of twins coming to Hope Village 10 years ago. It gave them access to great education from the start of their school life and are doing so well now at High School. Yet more than that they have grown up in a family that loves and cares for them making their life full and their future secure and open to so much.

22.01.2022 He's confident, good looking (at least we think so !) and a very smart young man. He has handled school very well and is in his last year of High School. Throughout his secondary schooling he has often been chosen to join leadership teams within the school because of his clear leadership gift matched with a kind heart. He has come a long way from the little boy who arrived at 3 years of age with no family and no future. We are excited at what his future holds for him.

22.01.2022 Family. Growing up together. Supporting each other. Caring for each other.

20.01.2022 We are so thankful for donors who are committed long term to what we are achieving at Hope Village. Just recently a really great friend of Hope Village helped us get over the line with cash to finish this second building for Junior High School and then provided funds for a toilet block and essential hand washing stations to help with Covid procedures for our school. Sometimes it’s the essential basic needs we need financial help with as well as the heart touching stories of assisting our kids. It’s all part of the overall expansion of our work and commitment to see changing lives impacting generations a reality every day at Hope Village.

20.01.2022 Challenging times as a teacher this year with off site learning happening... but love the dedication of our staff to keep making a difference in the lives of children.

19.01.2022 We teach our children to have pride in their homes. We encourage each of them to be part of caring for their homes and keeping them clean. We strongly believe that every person in the family has a responsibility to make that happen. The incredible thing is there is such an attitude of happiness that they express as they each carry out their tasks. In an area where maintenance and care is not always shown or appreciated we are seeing young people growing up with a different outlook...."changing lives......impacting generations"

19.01.2022 Six years ago this beautiful baby boy was born at Hope Village while we were caring for an unwed teen mother. The young teenager made the hard decision to leave her baby in our care. For him that meant he was guaranteed of a good life, lots of love and education to secure his future. Today he has just hit the "lanky" stage of being a six year old and continues to thrive in his Hope Village family. "changing lives....impacting generations".

18.01.2022 Happy Fathers Day, from our family to yours!

18.01.2022 Miss Surya joined our team in July and is teaching Year 4. We say 'joined our team" because we have a culture of team work throughout our school. Each one working alongside the other sharing skills, ideas and encouragement. Hope School is a great place to work. You may want to consider joining the team yourself by sponsoring one of our teaching staff. Just email us at [email protected] and we will tell you how you can partner with us bringing a high standard education to the poor of this region.

15.01.2022 Whether it is in groups in villages or one on one our staff are committed to bringing education to their classes despite restrictions.

15.01.2022 Just chilling and chatting and sharing together. Family

12.01.2022 Just recently we were in desperate need for more computers. As our kids continue to be home schooled one computer between 31 High school kids. Thanks to generous people we have been able to provide an additional 8 computers for them. Our kids have made the following comments: .... we are so grateful and happy.... this is so helpful for us.... we don't have to wait a long time for our turn at the computer....we are learning responsibility in taking care of our new equipment... So a very big thank you to those that made this possible. One of the next things on the drawing board for us will be a dedicated learning hub for them to do their schoolwork in. Hope Village is always growing and projects are always happening.

11.01.2022 Every family loves to look back at photos and see how their kids have grown. We do too. And what a change there has been for her coming from Nias Island with her brother 7 years ago to the young teen she is today. Family, love, education opportunities is what she has now.

10.01.2022 The challenges of home schooling for our Year 12 students is finding just the right quiet spot to get their study finished. In a rural community we have to find many ways to keep them up-to-date...fortunately we can provide our students with shared computers and handphones to keep them in contact with their teachers. So grateful to generous donors for their help with providing technology for them.

09.01.2022 Recently this lovely child arrived at Hope Village with two other siblings. She has come from a very needy family of a single parent father who had gone blind. Caring for this 6 year old just became impossible for him. But caring for her is more than possible at Hope Village. Guaranteed love, family, education, health and a great future ahead of her. If you would like to be involved in her life you can contact us at [email protected] for more information.

09.01.2022 These two young men are currently undertaking formal training as tailors. This means their future has lots of interesting options. Maybe one day they will own their own tailoring business. Who knows even "Hope Tailoring " - made to measure clothes for you :)

08.01.2022 These men are such a blessing to Hope Village. Mr Pieter and Mr Dana are great role models and father figures to our kids. Their job isn’t easy but they willingly day after day lead our Hope Village family and school. We wish them a happy Fathers Day from Australia today.

07.01.2022 Miss Happy Junita certainly brings joy with that smile of hers. She joins our Junior High School staff this year as Maths and Art teacher. Working with our kids outside of normal classroom teaching in this Covid restrictions means she shares that smile with every home she visits while distributing and teaching her lessons.

06.01.2022 When borders are closed it means finding other ways to continue to grow our staff. This morning it was so good to hear them sharing about what they are learning through our online training program with UX Indonesia on the 5 love languages of children. To hear their enthusiasm in learning how to put this into practice with our kids, even in the midst of home schooling 65 kids is such a blessing. Our staff continue to embrace personal growth for themselves and we are so proud of them.

04.01.2022 Behind everything we do at Hope Village our purpose is to enhance this principle for every one of our children.

03.01.2022 We would love to introduce you to Miss Monri our Grade 5 teacher. We welcome her to our Hope School staff. In the middle of a pandemic with classroom learning not in operation it has been an unusual start for her but she is doing really well at building into the lives of her children through other means.

02.01.2022 Practising their smiles for when they can finally have visitors to Hope Village again... the cuteness doesn't need any practice. They have this pretty well under control. Our pre-schoolers are definitely high achievers in the cuteness department.

01.01.2022 Miss Terri may be one of our teachers at our Junior High School but she is much more than that. She is family. Her love for our kids exceed the bounds of classroom. She is a great role model for our girls.

01.01.2022 These two lovely people have a great story. Roy found his way to Hope Village many years ago as a young man who had been barely existing on the streets of Jakarta. He had no family, no future and he was "adopted" by Pieter and Erika part of our team at Hope Village. They gave him a home to live in and worked with him training him and helping him overcome great obstacles until he was ready to join our staff firstly as a driver/gardener then continuing training him until he dev...eloped as a Carer. Lena was rescued from Kupang as a young teen and "adopted" by one of our friends in a local church. The same story was repeated there. She was cared for encouraged and trained and just over two years ago she came to work as a Carer assistant at Hope Village. The rest of the story is beautiful as these two found love together, married and now jointly care for children in Destiny House Hope Village. We are committed to changing lives and impacting generations and this is just some of the proof. See more
