25.01.2022 our first time in the snow unfortunately it was a bit to windy to have any fun today (other than our small snow fight) but we will be returning in the next few days to hopefully do some skiing
21.01.2022 we stopped over for a night at centennial park kalgoorlie. They offer free 24 hour stop (must be self contained) located back from the road not to much noise. there was another 7 vans parked up for the night. Jasmine loved being able to have breakfast in the park and a 2 hour play!... on offer was public toilets, free bbq's which were spotless and lots of shady seating. definitely worth a stop if heading threw kal. also in the centre of kalgoorlie (cassidy st behind kmart/coles) there is a very large area for rv/caravans to park. and a dump point about 200m further down the road.
19.01.2022 this morning we woke up to our coldest morning so far. went to look out the caravan window and there was ice on the inside of the van window! went to squirt water on the car windscreen and the lines were frozen solid at 7am it was -3
17.01.2022 1 more day and our adventure starts. we are all packed up and ready to go. on the bad side woke up this morning to a flat car battery :/
17.01.2022 First pit stop for lunch fuel and of cause to see the giant Ram in Wagin. still hasn't hit us that we have started our adventures today. can't wait to see this beautiful country.
17.01.2022 on our last post (in comments) I promised to start posting every night that we do something awesome. well we did something super awesome today! we visited Melbourne zoo. we fell in love, by far our favourite zoo so far. (we will be visiting most zoos in Australia.) jasmines favourite was the elephants, seals and the piggmy hippo jaimees favourite was the gibbon monkeys, zebra and the butterflies jeremys favourite was also the gibbon monkeys. ... to be honest we enjoyed every second of it and going back threw the photos it's hard to choose favourites. over all we struggles to fit the whole zoo in 5 hours that's also not stopping for lunch! my advice to anyone going to Melbourne zoo is to get cash out at the entrance, as there is no other atm in the zoo. we needed cash for face painting $5-$9 and merry go round $3.50. parking is only $2 for 5 hours, nice and cheap!
14.01.2022 yesterday jeremy took up some volunteer work at Hudsons Circus helping clean and set up the bigtop while they were setting up in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. It was great to see the ins and outs of how it all comes together. was definitely a experience and would recommend trying it if anyone gets the chance
13.01.2022 we are back on the road! after a 3.5 week stay in kalgoorlie. our first stop was Fraser Range Station. ( one night) great country camp site. we are really sad we didn't get to explore the site as much as we hoped, but enjoyed a lovely night around the camp fire roasting marshmallows. it had great facility's. undercover bbq area, full camp kitchen and a restaurant with a set menu each night. second night was 25km past Border Village ... absolutely beautiful beach side rest area. there is no cover from the wind and at night the van got a little rocky. no amenities this includes no bins. 08.01.2022 today we went to the royal flying doctor service in kalgoorlie. $5 per adult and children are free. we did the 2pm tour witch was a small introduction followed by a 10 minute DVD. we where then able to go out to the hanger and see the airplane. definitely worth having a look great to learn the history of the flying doctor.
