So what happens with PARENTAL LEAVE?... An eligible Employee is entitled to take 12 months’ Parental Leave if it is associated with: > The birth of a child who is born to the Employee or their spouse, OR > The placement of a child for adoption; and > The Employee has, or will have, a responsibility for the care of the child. Notice of an Employee’s intention to take Parental leave must be given to the Employer at least 10 weeks’ before the leave is to commence.
