12.01.2022 For me a big part of being Australian, or for that matter human, is our relationship to water. Even if we come from the desert, the moment we meet the water there is a transformation, and for each of us we are taken somewhere that is only of our own knowing. In this imagery I hope to capture people in that space, so that perhaps we the observers can search out where these subjects have gone and truly see them for the first time. - Keith Hamlyn Nominations are still open for 'I Sea U,' a community portraiture series being exhibited as part of Horizon Festival 2021. 12.01.2022 LORALEE NEWITT // "My art practice is inspired by the spaces that we need for survival, like the nooks of comfort, the spaces that are uncomfortable and demand expansion and the nostalgic reminiscent spaces. In this way my work creates connection between wellness and creation, luxury and necessity. My work is a fluid slippage of language and landscape, resulting in an abstract realm of familiarity."
