09.01.2022 From midnight tomorrow night 12am Wednesday 5 August 2020, South Australians will face tougher restrictions for gatherings at home and licensed venues. Premier... Steven Marshall has announced the limit on home gatherings will decrease from 50 to 10. The 10 people limit includes the people who live there (as it was before). Also pubs, bars and restaurants will only be able to serve alcohol to patrons who are seated. Mr Marshall also indicated the states transition committee was "looking very closely" at density arrangements at venues, as well as crowd numbers at sporting events like football, plus maybe numbers at fitness studios. Stay tuned for further updates. Mr Marshall said that Australia is on high alert with over 6,000 active cases in Victoria. He indicated that these changes are being made here to try and avoid the kind of restrictions in place there. "Were acting swiftly, trusting the expert advice that weve received, and keeping in front of the game." "Every single thing we do is to keep the people of South Australia safe during this coronavirus pandemic." South Australia has recorded 2 new coronavirus cases. 1. A man in his 50s - a close contact of a woman in her 20s who was a positive case yesterday. He is now being isolated in a medi-hotel. 2. Another man in his 50s who arrived in the state on a repatriation flight from New Delhi on Saturday, and has been isolated in a hotel.
