25.01.2022 Here's a little offering for those of you who are confined to quarters but are still looking for music to help you through these trying times! In lieu of doing a regular floor spot at Hornsby for 'the faithful' I've set up a YouTube channel of my acoustic guitar tunes at "Dave Spira's guitar solos".(There are a couple of dozen for you to view if you're that way inclined!) The clip posted here is a whimsical little tune I wrote a year ago and titled "Cat & Mouse". (Partly insp...ired by the games being played in Hong Kong at the time, by the authorities and supporters of greater democracy). For those of you who prefer a bit more than just a solo acoustic guitar, Cap In Hand have over a dozen video clips on YouTube under "capinhandduo" - several of which were recorded at HKFC. Our next event is a LIVE MUSIC NIGHT on FRIDAY 20th NOVEMBER from 8pm at Beatrice Taylor Hall, featuring talented local duo Cap in Hand, plus floor spots for guest performers... BOOK IN NOW! Cap in Hand are Dave Fingers Spira and Nigel Muddy Walters. Dave plays exquisite finger style acoustic guitar in a range of open tunings while Nigel is an accomplished vocalist and multi-instrumentalist (cello, mandolin..., guitar and more). They write many of their own songs and tunes with a wide mix of light and shade. Both fine musicians and entertainers, Dave and Nigel have performed on radio, folk clubs and festivals throughout NSW and beyond. Contribution $25. 06.01.2022 Hi Folks Well what a situation we are all witnessing everything is on hold until who knows when. Beatrice Taylor Hall has been locked until further notice. Everyone is in isolation or practising social distancing. I will keep you informed when we will be able to again enjoy the folk club. In the mean time we will endeavour to bring you from time to time something from our regulars. Perhaps even a Zoom folk club so if you are at home working on a new song, watch this space.
