25.01.2022 The Hornsby Model Engineers Public Running Day Preparation Crew have once again done a great job [this morning ~ Saturday 7/03/2020] preparing the Galston Valley Railway site for tomorrows Public Running Day ~ 8th March 2020. As most know this activity of prep is always carried out on the previous day by a small crew. Event details:- https://www.facebook.com/events/215343193200068/... Weatherzone [Galston]:- https://www.weatherzone.com.au/nsw/sydney/galston ==================== Train rides commence at 10am ~ gates open 9.30am. Please remember we run trains till 3pm. There are 3 Picnic Levels:- Upper, Station Level, and Lower (over the arched bridge). In the Upper Level we have the BBQ stall, Canteen, Stationary Engine Display, and Amenities. Our expanded Garden Railway [45mm gauge]with U-Drive for the kids. Just a short walk down the path from the main entrance.

23.01.2022 Thanks to all our visitors who attended our March 2020 Public Running Day at Galston Valley Railway >> last Sunday, 8th March and had a fun time riding trains, picnicking, or just watching the trains go by ~ this being our first run for Autumn ~ which started a little damp but turned out to be quite a nice day riding trains. It was good to get our fleet of members usual running steam trains [6] out again [as December & January we missed them due to the hot conditions ~ and Fe...bruary was a washout]. The steam trains were "in their full glory" with the cool air just right enabling the steam exhaust looking great as like in the winter months. What a huge temperature contrast to recent days/weeks. ------------------------------------------ 10 points for those keen passengers who like riding trains in slight inclement conditions [a little drizzle at the end] despite the forecast saying it was going to get better as the day progressed. ------------------------------------------ **We thank those who waited patiently for a train ride or two however the diesel trains were able to be loaded quickly and sent on their way making the queues much shorter than usual. ---------------------------- >> Our Next Public Running Day is on Sunday, 9th February 2020 ~ Last run for Summer ~ 4 weeks time. 17.01.2022 All go here today at Galston Valley Railway for our Public Running Day today ~ 1st run for Autumn , ~ Sunday, 8th March 2020 with the weather being ideal now despite a little drizzle over night and early morning. Well be running both Live Steam and Diesel trains [Electric and Petrol Powered]. Please remember we run trains till 3pm. ... The weather now being somewhat cool and dense enabling some great photos of the steam trains exhaust. BBQ stall opens 11:30am. Here are some of the Locos running today.. Bring some wet weather gear etc.. just in case. We have our covers up in the Upper Level Picnic Area.

11.01.2022 What a great way to end the school holidays but with some exciting train rides for you and the kids. Be sure to check out our stationary engine display and other items in the upper level picnic area. Weather is perfect. Remember we run trains till 3pm. Our expanded Garden Railway is just a short walk down the path from the main entry gate ~ we have a few members with some very nice Gauge 1 (45mm gauge) Locos and Train sets.. worth a look , with U-Drive for the kids..

06.01.2022 Thanks to all our visitors who attended our August 2020 Restricted Public Running Day at Galston Valley Railway >> [Yesterday] Sunday, 9th August and had a fun time riding trains in family groups!! ------------------------------- Despite some unfavourable weather forecast during the week lead up and for Sunday ~ Sunday morning turned out quite good for running trains ~ The train rides with the restrictions turned out to be quite a nice day ~ although a little different keep...ing the required social distancing. 02.01.2022 The Hornsby Model Engineers Public Running Day Preparation Crew have once again done a Stirling job [this morning ~ Saturday 11/01/2020] preparing the Galston Valley Railway site for tomorrows Public Running Day ~ 12th January 2020 despite a little drizzle earlier on. Tomorrows forecast is looking ideal.. Cloudy 21C a little cooler for a change we all welcome. As per our update a couple of days ago well be running only diesel locomotives [Electric and Petrol] ~ no live... steam this month. The wood fired BBQs are not to be used due to the dry vegetation. Our BBQ stall will open at approx 11.30am. Train rides commence at 10am ~ gates open 9.30am. Please remember we run trains till 3pm.
