25.01.2022 After having a sleep in and missing the 2am start at Stirling's Crossing Classic event, I got mobile to see the first competitors arrive back to base at 4.10am.... After spending a very chilly time in Toowoomba last weekend it is with some trepidation that I am heading to camp at the Bremervale Justice Challenge event this weekend. Looking forward to catching up with everyone. Anyone wanting to discuss or organise a treatment please call 0409 762 293.

24.01.2022 Dear Clients and Friends, Thank you for all your continuous support during our 2020 journey, it definitely has been a little different. With time away from the... show ring, we have managed to do some property improvements (the stables should be completely finished next year), we upgrade our tow vehicle, increased our flock of breeders and tasted our first specifically breed meat, introduce first litter of Jackteses, and found some fantastic homes for our ponies and puppies. Lastly the first of our ponies by Crestwood Royal Occasion were started under saddle: Cynbel Lodge Mighty Mouse, Cynbel Lodge Adienna and Cynbel Lodge Foxworthy. We can't wait to see them all out and about next year! We say bring on 2021! Thank you to the following businesses for supporting us during 2020 with your products or services. Without you we wouldn't be able to have our ponies looking and performing at their best. Horseandridertherapy, for ensuring our ponies are feeling their best! DB Equine. for ensuring all our ponies hooves are looking their best, even when I have some strange requests! Argyle Hay, supplying our ponies with their wonderful Hay #CPSEquineAccessories, custom making our saddle covers and false tail bags; I had a very special request which they were able to cater for! #NorcoMurgon, supplying our ponies and sheep with all their grain. Carney's Feed Store, supplying our ponies their Fiber Protect all year round. Gala Equine, all our ponies are dressed in Gala Equine rugs, their fit and prompt service keeps us returning. Kennallywood for doing a wonderful job starting CL Foxworthy under saddle for us.

21.01.2022 What a Ride. Thank you to Allena's owners for allowing me to be part of their team since her purchase in June 2020. Her record to date shows 6 runs for a 2nd, 7...th, 1st, 4th, 1st and 1st. First win was on New Years Eve and the latest on Saturday 29th February. Congratulations to all connections and may Allena's winning run continue. photo credit darrenwinninghamphotography, Donna Reading

17.01.2022 Happy Easter to everyone. In the true spirit of endurance riding the day has started with a few showers. I have found a couple of good spots to get a chocolat...e and sugar fix, with the bakery in Imbil and Robyn from L Aroma del cafe at the ride base offering plenty of treats. The complimentary egg with my coffee was appreciated. Looking forward to amother exciting day. See more
17.01.2022 From the bottom of mine and my partner’s heart, would love to say a massive thank you to Wes Russel for going above and beyond to save our beautiful mare Cidey ...life. A bit of background story of Cidey’s injury. It was found that she had an infection in her sesamoidea ligament and Tendon. The vet told us that Cidey had brittle bones after being exposed to baffle grass as baby, which meant that if we did do the surgery, she would have a 50/50 chance of actual survival as most horses after the surgery she was needing would fall over coming out of anaesthetic and she would most likely break her leg. To add insult to injury the vet told me Even if you had a million dollars it would not change the out come of her recovery and advised me to think about her quality of life and maybe it would be more humane to put her down. After sending me home with some antibiotics and best wishes. I was determined to prove that vet wrong. So, after tracking down Wes through his brother Kent, Cidey began her long recovery. Once a fortnight on a Tuesday morning during winter what felt like we would always pick the coldest morning to do her treatment. Wes would meet us in Hampton to treat her, and just after two sessions we started to see improvements. Wes was amazing during this time when we needed to ask questions, he was only one phone call away. Wes would go above and beyond finding out information that would help her recover. Our mare means the absolute world to us and it devastated us to see her so hurt and not knowing what the future was going to hold her. Nearly 4 months straight Wes treated Cidey, he gave her back her quality of life. To see her running around enjoying her retirement is a sight that I thought I would never get the chance to see. Cannot thank you enough Wes for what you have done for Cidey. We are forever grateful. Sincerely from Ashton and Susie xx
17.01.2022 The day comes to an end in Wallumbilla.

14.01.2022 As we age and our memory recall button is a bit sluggish, trips down memory lane become more frequent and take on more focus. As I visited the North Burnett rec...ently memories came flooding back of being part of the painting team when the motel was built. Last week on my regular trip to the South Burnett I had some spare time and took the opportunity to get a photo of the old National Australia Bank in Wondai where I worked for a couple of years. ( it is now for sale after transformation to a cafe). This weekend I will venture west on the Warrego Highway to Charleville for the first time in many years. Having spent my secondary school years and started my first job with the National Australia Bank there a few years ago. Another trip down memory lane awaits. I am looking forward to my first endurance weekend in Charleville and seeing all the regular and new faces. If any competitors would like to discuss or book a treatment please call 0409 762 293. 14.01.2022 I am loving the colour green. Enjoyed a rainy day completing treatments around Imbil yesterday. I took a moment to catch up with some locals who were happy with the green grass.
14.01.2022 Warming up for the start.
13.01.2022 I did not make it out of bed for a pre dawn photo today, however found Robyn of Aromadel coffee hard at work.
13.01.2022 After a big day in the vet ring, there is a quiet moment.

10.01.2022 After plenty of soaking rain I enjoyed the drive through a beautifully green Mary Valley on my way to treat ponies on Yabba Creek Road. Borumba Dam is 100% full and spilling water. On the way I captured an image of some locals resting on the roadside.
10.01.2022 We were relieved to return to our home which was unaffected by the fires. Very grateful for the work of the the amazing firefighters and their support crews who protected our communities. Thank you for all the messages of support and to our friends who provided accommodation for us and our furry friends.
10.01.2022 Having a fine afternoon at Fernvale Endurance ride. Had to stop and take a photo of Lake Wivenhoe. Being a tab warm means space at the water trough is at a premium at the start of the 80 km ride.
09.01.2022 Looking forward to attending Stirling's Crossing education weekend, catching up with old friends and meeting some new ones. There is always more to learn.

09.01.2022 As the equestrian season draws to a close I am excited to be heading to Stirling's Crossing for the Stirling's Starlight event on the weekend. 08.01.2022 Feeling inspired after a learning weekend in the company of fellow Bowtech Bowen therapists. It was great to reconnect with the founders of Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia Ossie and Elaine Rentsch who have just returned from teaching around the world.
08.01.2022 STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS REFLECTIONS What a week it has been starting with travelling to Stirling’s Crossing outside Imbil for the Queensland Endurance Championshi...ps on Friday and arriving home on Monday midday. I then repacked in preparation to travel out to the South Burnett for my fortnightly treatment run. From there it’s been a busy week of treatments back on the coast. As I walked along the Noosa river on Monday afternoon, I reflected on my long weekend at the QERA State Championships hosted at Stirling’s Crossing. Arriving on Friday afternoon I caught up with a number of clients and set up camp for a 3am rise to see the start of the 85 km ride at 4am. The 160km State Championships ride started at 10pm on Saturday with the track remaining open until 10pm Sunday night. As I spoke to some of his riders heading back out on track well into the dark on Sunday night the QERA president reminded me of the endurance motto to complete, is to win. Congratulations to all riders who completed. My thoughts also go to those competitors who trained and prepared and didn’t get to complete. I am as happy providing treatments or assistance to competitors riding in 20 and 40km training rides or 160 km championships, however as in any sport competition is alive and well most questions are asked as to how fast or who won or placed at the head of the field. Congratulations to the winners and place getters in all divisions of all rides. I was very happy to sponsor the 1st Heavyweight trophy for the 85km ride. Thank you to everyone who used my services in the lead up to and over the weekend; in particular Brook and Leigh-Ann Sample, Fiona Fenech and the Fenech family and Boonara Endurance . Some wonderful results were achieved by these teams including 1st Junior, 3rd, 4th and 6th middleweight, 4th and 5th lightweight. I am very grateful to be part of this sport and for the support of many competitors. See more

05.01.2022 I had a free moment and dropped into Coolum Beach. Spotted a couple of whales playing a long way off shore. On a nice spring day there was plenty of surfers in the water.

02.01.2022 Winter is here. Tuesday morning started with the shock of a frosty windscreen, starting times will need amendment. Luckily my first horse of the day had a warm rug I was able to work under.
02.01.2022 Easter sure is different in 2020. I am missing camping at an easter horse endurance event. Wishing everyone an enjoyable and safe easter. Hope the bunny finds you.
02.01.2022 Spending the weekend at a continuing professional development course for animals. Looking forward to implementing what I have learned.
02.01.2022 On Wednesday my wife and I went on a road trip to visit our friends Peter and Shauna Wolfe of Free Ranging Chef fame. They were catering ar the ATHRA (Australian Trail Horse Riders Association) ride Queensland September Camp at Killarney. I wasnt aware that Peter had organised with Erin, the ride coordinator for me to give a talk and demonstration on Equine Muscle Release Therapy. I have always avoided public speaking however with an audience of 20 to 30 people I was left wi...th little choice but to give it a go. Apparently it went well as I was overwhelmed with the response. I didnt think to take any photos until the last 2 treatments. In between treatments I was able to listen to other speakers. I trust everyone enjoyed their last few days of the ride. Many thanks to Peter and Erin for organising. Thanks to the riders who generously allowed me to treat their horses and be part of their day.
01.01.2022 On the road again, a bit closer to home attending the Endurance Queensland State Championships being held at Stirlings Crossing. Best of luck to all competitors. I will be available all weekend to provide and discuss treatments. Contact is 0409 762 293.
